You’re talking about 7.1 million US school kids who have access to FAPE bc of 504 & IDEA. A population far more likely to be victims of bullying/violence than to be perpetrators of it. And it’s GENERAL Ed, not “normal ed.” 61 million Americans are disabled. Disability is normal.

You used a whole lot of anecdotal evidence from non-experts but proffered no actual studies to support any of your claims. I’d like to go chapter by chapter of your book and point out why I not only think it’s wrong, but dangerous. If I find a forum, will you debate me?

Another erroneous claim of the book is that disability services can’t be delivered in a GenEd environment, which I found stunning, given you your educational expertise. Surely you know if supports are denied in ANY setting, then the system is non-compliant w/IDEA, right?

The problem w/Broward County and Cruz wasn’t that they were compliant with IDEA, but that they were NOT at all. Even at Cross Creek, by your account, he was receiving no psychological services. Why attack the law with which Broward was non-compliant? I’m confused. Please explain

From what you detailed, entire system was entirely non-compliant w/IDEA his entire education. He was also clearly more than just developmentally delayed. Was he privately assessed? Did the school do any other evaluations? Why would you blame IDEA when IDEA wasn’t being applied?

It strains credulity that an educational expert would blame a law for an event like Parkland shooting, when IDEA was not being applied appropriately at ANY setting in the county. Can you please tell me why restraining and secluding Cruz more would have prevented his rampage?

That’s what you said in your congressional testimony. That had restraint and seclusion changes that took effect 2016-17 school year, 3 months prior to his expulsion, could have prevented Parkland. Your words. Do you have studies showing restraint & seclusion deter violent crime?

Surely you’d not make a claim like that as an expert testifying in a congressional sub-committee hearing w/no corroborating evidence? Please post studies that show restraint and seclusion of disabled children are beneficial or therapeutic. I’ll wait.

Or did you mis-speak and meant to say something else? And if that’s the case, would you be willing to correct the record on that claim so that it’s accurate for those considering passing KASSA? You told me to read you book for your proof. I read it. There isn’t any.
