Not only did the fund not deliver any dams, it wasted public money.
Between July 2019 and 30 September 2020 alone, the Lib/Nat government spent $615,986 of public money on running it. But it didn’t achieve anything at all.
And guess who was the treasurer to committed $2 billion to this complete failure of a scheme?
Which Liberal is most well-known for making big announcements that deliver nothing?
Anyone who guessed Scott Morrison is correct.
This government is all about giving the appearance of action but not taking any.
On Budget night 2020, the Treasurer included Emu Swamp Dam in his speech.
But after the Palaszczuk govt had agreed to fund it, the Feds took another year to send through the paperwork.
This government’s form is to talk about things, and give the appearance of action, but achieve nothing.
But of course they never get things done. They’re too busy fighting amongst themselves and managing fallout from their constant stream of scandals and self-owns.

Good morning everyone.
I'm sure you're checking the BOM alerts and/or the app.
They're saying there were some renewed river and creek rises earlier yesterday with the storms.
.../
And they're expecting less rain today, which is terrific, but with the river and creeks being so swollen, additional rain can still contribute to river/creek rises.
.../
They're saying there will be a minor flood peak - 2.25 m - today around midday, and then a few more minor flood peaks to come.
We're also still covered by the new 'flood watch' so keep checking the BOM.
With the revelations and allegations of the past few weeks it has never been clearer that we need women in politics. Not just a few, but a critical mass.
../
Political culture is affected by the makeup of the parliament, the staffing corps, and the press gallery, and beyond that into party structures and activism.
Penny Wong is an example of a woman in leadership who is backed in by the fact of having a shadow cabinet & caucus that’s half women. This affects culture & context, and all of our leaders, male and female.
This is the report that was prompted by multiple calls for an investigation into, among other things, an $80 million purchase of water entitlements from a company that had links to Coalition MP and Minister Angus Taylor.
The government had switched from an “open tender” to a “limited tender” process. The Auditor-General’s report found that the department did not consistently apply approved policy, planning and guidance to the assessment of all limited tender procurements.
Look, if you’re feeling self-satisfied because you preselected on merit, and not using quotas, try this simple method of checking the success of your merit-based processes.
First, check your assumptions. Have you assumed women have as much merit as men? If no, perhaps revisit your assumptions.
If you assume that women have as much merit as men, then that implies that if your preselections were conducted according to merit exclusively, around half the people preselected would be women.
