3/22 A typical article on the long-established propaganda resource Reuters goes like this:
"UN says there is no evidence to back up Russia's claims about Ukraine's biological weapons programme".

4/22 Interestingly enough, there are no such false claims in the article itself. There is a statement by Izumi Nakamitsu, the UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, who stressed that the UN has no data on biological weapons programmes in Ukraine.
5/22 There is a detailed speech by US representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
She said Washington was "deeply concerned" that Russia was "trying under a foreign flag" to lay the groundwork for its own use of biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine.

8/22 She was echoed by Britain and Norway. Ferit Hoxha, Permanent Representative of Albania to the UN, had a fairy tale to say that "the Council should not be presented with fantasies or glossy stories, but with independently verified and jointly obtained evidence".

22/22 Extremely pertinent questions. However, the shameless behaviour of Twitter and Facebook "fact-checkers" has long been the subject of widespread condemnation - dating back to the 2020 presidential election.
