"Housing that is affordable for everyone" eh?

I'm Chrystia's constituent (Uni-Rosedale)

My income on ODSP is $1169 per month for *all costs*

The shelter portion is only *$497*

Can you help find me affordable housing for $497 per month?

#CanadianDisabilityBenefit #Budget2022
The #CanadianDisabilityBenefit was not in #Budget2022,

It was in the campaigns, the throne speech, the mandate letter – but not the budget.

Perpetual studies still to come stalling the creation of the benefit, that's where Canada is at.
Provinces have already dropped their responsibilities re: disability supports admittedly waiting on the CDB which the Liberals made a big deal out of.

Disabled folks in legislated poverty now have no chance to be lifted from poverty for the next year. Provincially or Federally.
So that brings me to my first point:

ODSP won't increase.
CDB isn't coming.
No raise is coming for the foreseeable future.

Which brings me to my first question:

Someone find me affordable housing for $497/month because that's apparently what Chrystia Freeland is calling for.

"Nobody gets left behind."

The. Liberals. Left. Disability. Funding. Out. Of. The. Entire. Budget.

#CanadianDisabilityBenefit #DisabilityTwitter #Budget2022
I've said this a thousand times but I need to state it again after #Budget2022 was officially revealed.

The lack of the #CanadianDisabilityBenefit being on the budget not only breaks promises (Liberals promised to make the CDB, NDP promised to lift disabled folks from poverty) –
It shows that the coercive amendments to MAID in which the Liberals led the rushing through of are meant to be there. It shows that the government is willfully offering disabled people only two choices: forced poverty, or death.

It shows 🇨🇦 is attempting to thrive with eugenics.

Poll:
Will the Canadian Disability Benefit receive it's funding in the Liberal Federal Budget 2022 presented tomorrow by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland?

#CanadianDisabilityBenefit #cdnpoli #Liberals #WhereIsTheCanadianDisabilityBenefit #Trudeau #Freeland #Disability #Canada
The answers to this poll are important to me.

As a disabled person, Since '21 I've had the "option" of using MAID due to the C7 amendments rushed through removing the safeguards surrounding it. (Even before the mental illness option for MAID opens in '23) I wasn't able to prior.
By keeping me trapped in legislated poverty, the government is keeping my quality of life poor. I can't afford basic necessities life therapy, rent or medicine. The gov is actively pushing me toward MAID by keeping my quality of life poor with the only other "option" is MAID.

You ready?

Tie between Justin Trudeau & Carla Qualtrough:

- For rushing through BillC7 (the amendments removing safeguards to MAiD) earlier this year despite disabled voices/groups saying no

- For not helping disabled people through the pandemic as they did the working class
- For dangling benefits over disabled people during the election, then not following through

- for acknowledging that disabled people live in forced poverty numerous times, but not doing anything about it

- for playing jurisdiction ping pong with Premiers they know won't help
I'll never forget Qualtrough's grin on her face when MAiD was brought up in the Disability debate this year.

I'll never forget how Trudeau insisted on rushing through C7 without any plans in action to improve disabled lives by relieving forced poverty first...during a pandemic.

People are in need of a Federal Disability Benefit to lift them out of poverty – without even factoring in the pandemic.

Trudeau & Qualtrough acknowledged this in the election when they promised the benefit.

So fact that they're delaying this during a crisis is mind-boggling.
Factoring in the pandemic, there's no reason why the disability benefit should not be a priority. It's a matter of life and death at this point.

Disabled people are suffering now, but politicians want to wait until after the pandemic to deal with us.

That is too long.
The following quote is @CQualtro admitting she didn't want to help everyone because some (AKA most vulerable) were still getting their usual supports.

Their "usual supports" are *all* below the poverty line.

She was OK leaving folks in deep poverty for a costly national crisis.

Looks like someone is on some sort of power trip yet again. 👀 Saying things I have never said nor implied.

Yikes. 😬
It's definitely a power move to write someone's full name 3 times in a tweet going off about things no one ever even implied without tagging them when you are mutual followers.

This isn't the 1st time she has done this, and it won't be the last.

It's really unfortunate.
I don't know if it's that they are pissed that someone else has talked to MPs on this issue, or that others have passionate opinions on this issue

Either way, no one should be acting this immature about *checks notes* someone giving info they've recieve from official sources.

It angers me the Conservatives are using the MAID expansion (ability for those solely with mental health issues to use it by 2023) to boost their campaign.

CPC are against it due to religious motives against MAID as a whole, not bc it's a human rights issue. 1/ #MAID #cdnpoli
An example of this would be Erin O'Toole's saying doctors should be able to turn down a suffering patient when they request MAID.

If they truely viewed MAID as a human right, they wouldn't be trying to allow it to be denied it to a suffering patient.
globalnews.ca/news/8124803/e… 2/
If the Conservatives viewed the MAID amendments as a human rights issue instead of MAID as a religious issue, they'd have plans to lessen suffering by bring disabled folx out of legislated poverty.

Reality? They only plan to help working disabled folx. 3/
