If you've staked $ATOM in 2022 and haven't received any #airdrops yet, here's a piece of comforting data: the average time between snapshots and claims is currently 4.5 months (134 days), so you're probably being included in snapshots now. A quick thread 🧵
For $JUNO the snapshot was 18-February-2021 and the claim was 1-October-2021 meaning 225 days later
For $OSMO the snapshot was 18-February-2021 and the claim was 15-June-2021 meaning 117 days later
For $STARS the snapshot was 11-October-2021 and the claim was 11-March-2022 meaning 151 days later
For $CRE the snapshot was 1-January-2022 and the claim was 14-April-2022 meaning 103 days later
For $NETA the snapshot was 15-December-2021 and the claim was 1-March-2022 meaning 76 days later
So if you staked today, a reasonable expectation based on that data would be to be able to start claiming new airdrops by Sep-2022.
The Great Osmosis Bridge-Off is officially on and the vote is open until next Wednesday. Here's a selection of the best tweets & threads I've seen on the topic so far 🧵
Yesterday @Cryptocito interviewed @zcpeng, CEO of @ignite_com. Ignite, formerly Tendermint, is the company that started #Cosmos. Here are the highlights of the conversation, part1 🧵:
On a quick background note, Tendermint was founded by @jaekwon and @buchmanster. I wrote a thread about them and the other influential people to know in the ecosystem here
Back to the interview. The rebrand from Tendermint to Ignite is meant to prevent confusion between Tendermint the company and Tendermint the consensus protocol (which now powers half of the blockchain world, including the Terra, Cronos, Polygon, BinanceSC)
@osmosiszone stakers will soon be asked to vote for a bridge provider to connect #Osmosis to #Ethereum and other EVM chains as well. Here’s why I think @axelarcore is a top contender 🧵
1- Saying the team is qualified is an understatement
Co-founder @sergey_nog was a founding team member at Algorand and @MIT PhD. Co-founder @yorgosv_ graduated from MIT as well, and got a gold Medal at the International Math Olympiad.
The other 25-ish employees area mostly PhDs with world-class cryptographic experience.
As I'm getting deeper & deeper into the #CosmosEcosystem rabbithole, I've started to look at the people behind the projects. So here's a master thread on the prominent Cosmos builders, which I'll keep updating over time 🧵
Let's start with @jaekwon . Jae went to Cornell University. He co-founded Tendermint in 2014 and stepped down as CEO 2020. Now working on gno.land
@buchmanster was Jae's co-founder and CTO of Tendermint. Jae & Ethan created Cosmos. Today, Ethan is CEO of @informalinc . and president of @interchain_io
I did the math. If you had staked 25 $ATOM (i.e 150$) on 1-Jan-2021, you'd have 2400$ today. That's a 16x. The breakdown, and how it compares to other majors coins 🧵
Staked $ATOM qualifies you for #airdrops. And unlike most crypto airdrops, #Cosmos airdrops usually come from innovative & serious projects.
So with 25 staked $ATOM you'd not only have your
25 $ATOM worth 611$ today, but also:
#Cosmos vision as the internet of blockchains is extremely compelling. Here's why I think its likely to succeed, and why #IBC protocol is superior to other bridging options🧵
Most people are aware that #IBC integration comes close to "out of the box" for the Cosmos chains, and there's a ever-growing number of them, including hugely popular chains like #Terra, #Cronos, #BSC etc.
However, #IBC can be integrated with non Cosmos chains. @interchain_io is currently supporting teams on
Polkadot & Kusama , Near & Harmony to bring their ecosystem to Cosmos
