FINDING SOURCES OF FOREIGN INCOME FOR #SRILANKANS! Alright guys, so here is a š§µ on how you can potentially find new clients from foreign countries or find a remote job and build a stream of foreign revenue.
Note: This thread will include tips that may help you either find a remote job from a foreign country, or that will help you find clients for your business from a foreign country. Either way, the end goal is to help you find a stream of FOREX.
As I have mentioned before, you do not have to be in tech to find a remote job or to find foreign clients. I personally know people in marketing, finance, sales, HR, legal, and education who have found remote jobs/remote clients ā .
Tip #1: ProTip - Do plenty of Google searches for "remote jobs/remote working". What this will do is, is teach FB/Insta/LinkedIn etc that you are into remote working. So, any ads by companies that are hiring remote positions, will be shown to you. Easy way to find opportunities.
Tip #2: Make sure you have at least one strong social media profile for your personal brand or business. When you reach out to foreign clients/businesses, you must be able to confidently link them to your socials, because that is where they will look you up first.
Tip #3: Ensure that your LinkedIn profile is FULLY complete. I have spoken to at least 50 global recruiters from around the world, and they all say the same thing: LinkedIn is the first place they visit when looking up a candidate.
Tip #4: Do hashtag research. One of the best ways of finding businesses that may need your services is to do a hashtag search for your area of expertise. This will help you discover businesses in your niche. From there, it's about doing your research and pitching.
Tip #5: (1/2) When you do pitch, be PERSONAL. It is very easy to send a template-y message that simply introduces yourself and your service. 99% of the time doesn't work. Try to be personal. What I find that works, is either congratulating them on a recent achievement.
(2/) Or else, identify a piece of content posted, and try to relate a part of your life back to that piece of content to create a sense of connection. This will intrigue whoever opens the message on the other end. You will have a better chance.
Tip #6: Check out flexjobs.com. This is for those looking for remote jobs. This is an excellent job board with plenty of remote opportunities that pop up on a daily basis!
Tip #7: Check out workingnomads.com/jobs. Another amazing website that has plenty of job opportunities, especially for companies looking for remote workers from Asia. Proving my previous point, here is a job opening for a Recruitment Assistant (HR).
Tip #8: For everyone in #marketing in Sri Lanka this is a gold mine: skipthedrive.com/job-category/rā¦. Numerous remote job opportunities in the marketing sector from companies all around the world.
Tip #9: Another great remote job board: justremote.co. Once again, I personally know quite a few people, including Sri Lankans that successfully landed remote jobs via JustRemote.
Tip #10: Check out nodesk.co/remote-jobs/. This is a relatively new job board, but plenty of companies looking for remote workers without conditions on location. So it can be very useful for us Sri Lankans.
Tip #11: To all business owners, the websites mentioned above are just as useful to you as job seekers. Why? Because what you can do, is go through those job boards, research those companies, and if you think they could use your services, PITCH.
Final Tip: Facebook Groups are an extremely powerful place to find opportunities. Search for "digital nomad" or "remote working" groups. There are so many. Join them all. Keep a close eye out on all the opportunities and apply ASAP. Don't underestimate the power of FB groups.
As always, if you found this š§µ useful, do let me know. I am sure there are so many other resources which I may have missed, so if you do know any, please add them on!
If you found this useful, let me know! š Remember, be PATIENT, and good luck! š

REGISTERING YOUR BUSINESS IN THE #USA FOR #SRILANKANS! As promised, here is a š§µ on how you can register your business in the USA and open yourself to a global market of potential customers, accept foreign payments and open a US Corporate bank account!
Please note that since this is a thread, I have simplified the entire process here. There may be a few extra steps, which ARE NOT substantial. Once you go through this, I will host a Twitter Space to answer your questions. And before we start, total cost for this is under $400.
First things first. The actual legislation can get a bit confusing, and there are different types of business entities you can set up. For the sake of simplicity, I will assume most of you are single-owner businesses and SMEs. Therefore, a Single-Owner LLC is the way forward.
MOVING TO BALI FOR A #SRILANKAN š! So here is a š§µ on how you can potentially move to Bali, live here, and earn a source of foreign revenue while in #Bali. Keep in mind Indonesia is not a straightforward option for long-term migration, but an option for short/medium term stays.
So, I would like to reiterate that Indonesia is NOT a long-term migration option. As far as I know, there is no direct route for a PR, unless an employer sponsors you for a job. But, it is a great way to get away from the #EconomicCrisisLK at least in the short /medium term.
Right, so diving into it, Indonesia offers a visa called a B211A visa that allows you to stay in the country for up to 180 days. The visa is initially given for 60 days, with 4x extensions of 30 days each. You can legally stay here, rent apartments/villas, and open a bank AC.
Hello everyone. Since this seemed to be one of the most urgent requests from most people that DM'd me, here is a small š§µ on how to find #remotework job opportunities while you are based in #SriLanka.
Firstly, when it comes to looking for remote working #jobs it isn't as straightforward as finding a traditional job. Your usual sources such as LinkedIn may not be the best fit for finding remote jobs. What I have seen is that the remote working community is very tight-knit š
Remote jobs and opportunities seem to be available via word of mouth and recommendations. You need to understand that hiring remote for a company is very risky. The company does not have the safety nets of having a physical employee they can see. So credibility is EVERYTHING.
