Albanese has props! Prop alert! If you can bring $1 on set, why not a fire hose? Where does it end?! #auspol#LeadersDebate
Morrison: I support wages going up. The RBA governor says they are going up. Minimum wage has gone up 7% in real terms during our government.
Under Labor 3 out of 6 years it fell.
Albanese a bit repetitive. Real pay cut bad. They deserve better. Absolutely welcome a higher pay rise, but up to Fair Work. #auspol#LeadersDebate
Where are the two cups of coffee? He had props for the $1, where are the two cups?
Being able to manage money! $40bn of jobkeeper went to companies that weren't supposed to qualify!
Took 6 years to clean up the economic mess! One balanced budget that didn't pay back the debt incurred by the Coalition in the first 6 years of their govt. ALL FIXED!!! #auspol#LeadersDebate
omg ch7 is asking the rent-seeking question mid debate, not even leaving it to last like ch9. Give us free sport!
This is just slightly longer stump speeches than Ch9. I think Morrison is winning, because the slightly less time pressure is helping him get the lines out. Albanese no gaffes but it's just not as crisp.
Why in 2022 are we still asking about boats, when it is bipartisan, as opposed to climate policies, which are still contested and stop catastrophic global heating? #auspol#LeadersDebate
We'll be BOATIER than them, we BELIEVE in what we're doing to the boats MORE than them.
Morrison says the last 3 years have been tough.
The treasurer handed out $89bn and is still behind in his seat. STOP blaming covid for the fact the Liberals have turned their backs on what blue-ribbon seats want.
Given the polls show Labor is winning 80 seats, this "vote for strong govt" pitch is going to backfire in the last fortnight.
Morrison says the settlement with Rachelle Miller goes to "very private" conduct.
Miller has waived all confidentiality over this - there is absolutely nothing stopping PM from telling us what the $500K is for. #auspol#LeadersDebate
Morrison: "It will be Alan Tudge, he will be happy to come back and serve in the ministry."
HE'S BACK! (Aston electors and 75 other seats willing)
Morrison: I have 347 pages of a bill - that would not set up an integrity commission that would investigate alleged bullying of Kitching or alleged sexual harassment of Rachelle Miller.
Albanese: If you don't put a bill to parliament without support of the opposition - taken to its logical conclusion - why would you vote for them Saturday week. They won't DO anything without the opposition.
I'm beginning to think the Lanai Scarr round will be played at 9pm AWST, or midnight eastern time.
Albanese: "yes we will certainly rule them out [mining and carbon tax].
Now doing the stump speech on PM siding with Clive Palmer instead of Mark McGowan.
Don't say "stabilise the grid" say "make electricity cheaper". Jesus, not hard.
Morrison admires Albanese rising from humble beginnings and leading one of Australia's oldest parties.
...BUT he doesn't think he's across the detail.
Albanese says Morrison is "committed to his nation", including mental health of young people eg Headspace.
Um...he weaponised parents' concerns and trans people's health choices...
I rate this a close but clear win to Scott Morrison.
Albanese gaffe free, but Morrison just hit his lines better.
Don't think it will matter one iota, nor should it. Sound bites don't really prove who will be a better leader. #auspol#LeadersDebate
Albanese could've gone harder on that back-handed compliment question.
"Ah, I really like Scott's work-life balance. I mean, he promised Jenny and the girls that holiday - and boy, he really stuck to that while Australia burned."
Lol the undecided voter who exclusively refers to Morrison as "Scotty from marketing". Lol.

The list of charities and eminent Australians who have withdrawn or clarified "endorsements" taken out of context to fluff up Liberal candidates is LONG!
A thread!
This has happened with:
* PCYC & Paul Fletcher
* Brisbane Archdiocese & Julian Simmonds
Morrison said he accepted the resignation. "It isn't just about actual conflicts, the standards have an obligation to avoid perceptions of conflict". #auspol#ChristianPorter
Morrison appoints Angus Taylor to acting minister for industry, science and technology. #auspol
Morrison: "...whether it was the hesitancy around the AstraZeneca
vaccine, that many shared ... but this government didn't share, I can assure you"
FACT CHECK: between 8 April and 28 June adults aged 18-40 WERE NOT ELIGIBLE for vaccines, including AZ. #auspol#qt
If the government wasn't hesitant about AstraZeneca- why didn't it use the ample wiggle room in the ATAGI advice to allow people to take it with informed consent? theguardian.com/australia-news…
Why was there a late-night press conference passing on the ATAGI advice as if it were a fait accompli? Why did the vaccine horizons in June assume it wouldn't be used by October? theguardian.com/business/2021/…
Mark McGowan was pretty clear this evening that he expects virus free WA, QLD, SA, Tas and the NT will maintain their border restrictions if they're covid-free when Australia reaches the 70% vaccination target. #auspol
Earlier today, the Queensland deputy premier Steven Miles specifically credited the borders for eased restrictions eg dancing and standing at pubs.
Miles: "Border restrictions are critical to us continuing to have kinds of freedoms we have and people in other cities and states can only dream of."
Morrison wants you to criticise him for going to the football. It's a trap.
It's the same reason he doubled down on the father of daughters, I love Jen stuff - he's trying to stop the rot with blokey blokes and forgiving sheilas
Howard managed to skate through despite legitimate scandals in part because middle Australia were turned off by Howard haters, opposition so fervent it seemed irrational.
