1/12 Our government, since when @PMOIndia@narendramodi took office, is
devoted to the welfare of the poor. We’ve taken a number of steps to help the poor and middle class. As a result, the average inflation during our tenure has remained lower than during previous governments.
2/12 Today, the world is passing through difficult times. Even as the world is recovering from Covid-19 pandemic, the Ukraine conflict has brought in supply chain problems and shortages of various goods. This is resulting in inflation & economic distress in a lot of countries.
3/12 Even during the pandemic, our government set a paradigm of welfare, especially with PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. This is now acknowledged and appreciated the world over. #PMGKAY
4/n Despite the challenging international situation,we’ve ensured that there are no shortages/scarcity of essential goods. Even a few developed countries couldn’t escape some shortages/disruptions.
We are committed to ensure that prices of essential items are kept under control.
5/12 Despite rising fertilizer prices globally, we have protected our farmers from such price hikes. In addition to the fertilizer subsidy of ₹ 1.05 lakh crore in the budget, an additional amount of ₹ 1.10 lakh crore is being provided to further cushion our farmers.
6/12 @PMOIndia has specifically asked all arms of the government to work with sensitivity and give relief to the common man.
Keeping in line with @PMOIndia@narendramodi ‘s commitment to help the poor & common man, TODAY, we are announcing more steps to help our people.
7/12 We are reducing the Central excise duty on Petrol by ₹ 8 per litre and on Diesel by ₹ 6 per litre.
This will reduce the price of petrol by ₹ 9.5 per litre and of Diesel by ₹ 7 per litre.
It will have revenue implication of around ₹ 1 lakh crore/year for the government.
8/12
I wish to exhort all state governments, especially the states where reduction wasn’t done during the last round (November 2021), to also implement a similar cut and give relief to the common man.
9/12 Also, this year, we will give a subsidy of ₹ 200 per gas cylinder (upto 12 cylinders) to over 9 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This will help our mothers and sisters. This will have a revenue implication of around ₹ 6100 crore a year. #Ujjwala
10/12 We are also reducing the customs duty on raw materials & intermediaries for plastic products where our import dependence is high. This will result in reduction of cost of final products. #MSME#chemicals#Plastic#Customs
11/12 Similarly we are calibrating customs duty on raw materials & intermediaries for iron & steel to reduce their prices.
Import duty on some raw materials of steel will be reduced.
1/ Good to see the interest generated by @PMOIndia@narendramodi ‘s decision yesterday to bring an Excise Duty cut on petrol and diesel.
Sharing some useful facts.
‘am sure criticism/appraisal can benefit from having them before us.
2/Basic Excise Duty (BED), Special Additional Excise duty (SAED),Road & Infrastructure Cess (RIC) and Agriculture & Infrastructure Development Cess (AIDC) together constitute Excise Duty on petrol and diesel.
Basic ED is sharable with states.
SAED,RIC & AIDC are non-sharable.
3/ The excise duty reduction of ₹ 8/litre on petrol and ₹6/litre on diesel (effective from today) has entirely been made in Road & Infrastructure Cess (RIC).
Even in November ‘21, the reduction of ₹ 5/litre in petrol and ₹ 10/litre in diesel was entirely made in RIC.
#Kashi
In 2019, several homebuyers, largely those belonging to middle income groups, made representation to @PMOIndia about their situation- having to pay EMI while continuing to live in rented houses. Projects were stalled, they didn’t get possession of their homes. @PIB_India (1/4)
The real estate sector was under stress. Financial institutions couldn’t give additional funds to complete the projects.
Stalled #RERA-registered projects from all over the country were identified. Steps in due diligence were taken.
Despite #Covid, the @finmin, @DFS_India, @MoHUA_India@TheOfficialSBI worked together. Several state govts were proactive in facilitating the process. @PIB_India (3/4)
1/ Hon. CM of West Bengal @MamataOfficial has written to the Hon @PMOIndia seeking exemption from GST/Customs duty and other duties and taxes on some items and COVID related drugs.
2/ A list of items for COVID relief granted exemption from IGST for imports was issued on 3rd May’21. These were given exemption from Customs Duty/health cess even earlier.
Hon. CM @MamataOfficial , may notice that items in your list are covered.
3/ Full exemption from Customs duties, including IGST, is already available to ALL COVID relief material (not confined to a list) imported by @IndianRedCross for free distribution in the country.
1. Today, @PMOIndia spoke on boosting infrastructure for Kashi (his constituency) and in UP. @narendramodi Ji spoke on #FarmLaws2020 related matters.
In the 5yrs before 2014, ₹1.5 lakh Cr were spent for wheat procurement. Post ‘14 in 5yrs ₹3 lakh Cr (double) were spent.
2. In the 5 yrs pre 2014, ₹2 lakh crores worth paddy was procured compared to ₹5 lakh crores procured in 5 yrs post ‘14.
Procurement of pulses in 5 years pre 2014, was for ₹600Cr. Whereas, for 5 yrs, post ‘14, ₹49000 Cr was spent for pulses procurement (75x more) #FarmLaws
3. Under PM-Kisan more than 10crore farmers get their entitlements directly into their bank accounts. Until now nearly ₹ 1 lakh crore has already reached our farmers. For political gains, in one state, the govt there hasn’t allowed its farmers benefit of this scheme. #FarmLaws
Is the #MVA government in Maharashtra replaying #IndiraGandhi’s Emergency? Where are self-appointed guardians of #FoE in this #ArnabGoswami episode, which goes above & beyond ideological/political differences with a fellow journalist? No media ‘guilds’/Associations/Unions today?
The ‘LeftLib’ brotherhood, which spawns itself in media outlets abroad is quick to comment on the @BJP4India central govt + @PMOIndia. How much longer will they ignore worse attacks on #FoE by provincial governments run by @INCIndia & their allies? @WSJ@nytimes@FinancialTimes
Despite over a decade of vile abuse, which also stooped to cheap & personal, against @narendramodi from some sections of media, has he or the @BJP4India done anything remotely comparable? Shame on @INCIndia.
