This month brought big news including new cross-chain capabilities on Moonbeam, the launch of the first Polkadot cross-chain connection, integrations, & much more!
2/ π Moonbeam added cross-chain capabilities, introducing $xcDOT, an XC-20 representation of $DOT on its parachain. DOT token holders can now deposit their tokens for use in #DeFi on Moonbeam. moonbeam.network/announcements/β¦
3/ π Moonbeam in collaboration with @AcalaNetwork launched the first cross-chain connection using XCM on #Polkadot.
This XCM-based connection enables native communications & token transfers between Moonbeam and Acala without the need for bridges.π₯ moonbeam.network/announcements/β¦
4/ β‘οΈ The Runtime 1500 Upgrade went live on Moonbeam and @MoonriverNW Networks.
This upgrade introduced functionality for collator slot sharing, changes to staking rewards during unbonding, & optimizations for transacting w/ dApps & cross-chain assets. moonbeam.network/announcements/β¦
6/ π₯ We're thrilled to announce the Moonbeam ambassador of the month was Alexander, Head of Ambassadors to the Estonian Community! Thank you to all our amazing ambassadors that help make Moonbeam AWESOME! β¨
7/ π Moonbeam also hosted talks with project teams & thought leaders from around the #dotsama ecosystem in sessions of Moonbeam Universe & Moonbuilders Workshop. π
8/ πΎ At @BlockDownConf, in Croatia, the Moonbeam team had an unbelievable time connecting with the community, giving talks, and hosting a workshop on deploying NFT #dApps on Moonbeam and Moonriver!

9/ π΄ The Moonbeam team attended @Permissionless and had a great time meeting new people from across #web3!
Moonbeam Founder,
Derek Yoo also discussed the future of interoperability with thought leaders from outside the #dotsama ecosystem.

10/ π Moonbeam made its voice heard at #WEF22 in Davos.
@derekyoo, alongside @Polkadot and other parachain teams, discussed the future of #web3. He also gave a talk on emerging community economies enabled by blockchain technology.β¨
1/ A new proposal for changes to staking on Moonbeam and @MoonriverNW will be put forward for democratic vote. π³
The proposal is to remove staking rewards for tokens unbonded by delegators during the unbonding process. moonbeam.network/blog/upcoming-β¦
2/ Moonbeamβs current staking implementation allows delegators to receive staking rewards for tokens that are being unbonded. This new proposal will disincentivize this behavior by no longer providing staking rewards during the unbonding period.
3/ β The change poses a significant benefit to the collator community and the network as a whole.
Without this proposed change, unstable delegations can incentivize delegators to stake with only top-selected collators and work against the decentralization of the network.
1/ The #Moonbeam monthly dispatch is here!π₯ February was a short month but we made the most of it. Read on for new integrations & features on the network, events from throughout the month, and more! π moonbeam.network/newsletters/moβ¦
2/ On February 20th, the Moonbeam Foundation distributed $GLMR rewards to Take Flight participants who supported the recent Moonbeam launch to @Polkadot! β¨
3/ Runtime upgrade 1201 was enacted in support of Ethereum London (EIP-1559) on @MoonriverNW and #Moonbeam.
This update will serve as the building blocks for a full EIP-1559 implementation and improve governance and multi-chain functionality. moonbeam.network/announcements/β¦
1/ Moonbeam staking isnβt complicated, but that doesn't mean you canβt learn something new!
Dive into this 𧡠thread of short clips that cover how to choose a collator, tips for staking large amounts of $GLMR, and tracking your delegations. #Moonbeamstaking
2/ π§ Did you know delegators receive rewards based on their percentage of contributions towards a collator's total amount staked?
For larger delegations, staking with multiple collators can help manage revoke requests and optimize rewards.
3/ When first starting out, choosing a collator can be one of the most challenging parts of staking $GLMR. Watch this clip and go in-depth on how to choose a collator by reading our new blog post. π moonbeam.network/tutorial/choosβ¦
1/ π We have multiple live events going on this week within the #Moonbeam ecosystem! Don't miss our technical workshop, one-on-one interview, or live Twitter Space!
Read on to see everything that's happening and how to attend! π₯
1/ Our team just got back from @EthereumDenver! The event was a huge success thanks to the overwhelming turnout from the entire blockchain community! π
Read this 𧡠thread for a recap of Moonbeam at #ETHDenver, including talks and participation! π
2/π @KevinKNeilson & Stephen hosted a workshop: Enabling Cross-Chain Assets on Moonbeam with XCM! π₯
There, they demonstrated how to interact with XC-20s and build #dApps enabled by XCM.
3/ π‘ @theAlbertoV19, from the #Moonbeam team, delivered an enlightening talk, speaking to Moonbeam's architecture and how it's leading the way for a multi-chain future! β¨
1/ Great news!β The Moonbeam Foundation has completed the distribution of $GLMR rewards to Take Flight participants. β
$GLMR tokens were sent to the rewards address specified in the Token Purchase Agreement (TPA).
2/ Moonbeam ($GLMR) token holders can use their tokens to interact with the network by:
β¨β Staking with collators & earn rewards
π Using live integrations in the ecosystem
3/ β¨ GLMR token holders can stake tokens with collator and earn rewards.
