Amid reports of TTP militants’ resurgence in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial police said it is fully cognisant of the fact that some individuals from Swat previously living in Afghanistan are present in far flung mountainous areas but the situation is 'under control'.
“Police is cognisant of videos circulating on social media of heavy presence of militants in the valley. We are also aware of apprehension in general public that Swat may return to 2008/09 era when militant ruled the valley with their version of Sharia [law],” KP police statement
However, Swat is totally under control of civil administration and all law enforcement agencies are ready to respond to any misadventure, they added.

Rahimullah Haqqani was an important pro-Taliban ideologue and was pretty well known in Pakistan too. There have been multiple attacks against him in the past too, which he survived. He was a critic of ISKP.
