The iPhone Killer will be made by Apple. #Apple#vr#ar#VirtualReality#AppleVR
I think most people look at the VR headsets that exist today, and think that nobody is going to be walking around with that huge thing on their face. What they don’t see… is 10 years from now…
10 years from now, when this tech has matured and been shrunken down into a pair of glasses… ok… maybe slightly larger than glasses but that’s the goal. In 10 years… using a device that has a large screen on it will start to seem silly.
Many people have huge TV’s in their house… large computer monitors… and they get upgraded/replaced often enough to continue filling up landfills. People dedicate so much space in their home for TV watching, and for their computers…
And none of that will be necessary in the near future. You won’t have to hide cables, or buy mounting hardware… because you can put the screen wherever you want and make it as big as you need it to be.
You won’t need that screen on your iPhone… another screen on your laptop… on your desktop… your TV… you’ll just put on your glasses. Even if these things cost a lot, it’s offset by not needing these other devices.
When we are at that point when they are literally just like glasses… it’s not going to make sense to have all these screens everywhere. You won’t need a mouse, a keyboard (unless you really love the feel of it). Input devices like that will soon look old fashioned
I think one people start actually experiencing the benefit of not having to ever again reach into your pocket or purse to “check their phone” (we get a glimpse of this with smart watches) they will understand it better.
I don’t think Apple is at all going to be talking about the Metaverse. They seem to be embracing the need for the device to have AR capabilities and not just VR. For them, it wont be about escaping reality… but rather focusing on using the tech to make your real reality easier.
We are getting close to seeing a major shift in how we interact with computers, and devices in general. Uses for AR and VR already extend well beyond gaming and entertainment and we will surely see some cool stuff in the years to come.
If you’ve got a pair of glasses on that take the place of your phone, and computer… you wont need to carry that stuff around anymore and you are going to like that. Apple knows this… so why let their competition get a head start on killing off their flagship product?
I’m anxious to what they unveil… and I’ll surely have more Apple VR rants as we get closer to release. So yea, Apple is about to launch a product line that will eventually eat into their Mac and iPhone market. It’s going to take a while, but the iPhone’s days are numbered.

Apple’s VR technology has been slowly revealed to us over the years, right under our noses. #apple#AppleEvent#VR#AR#VirtualReality
I’ve written a little about this but will elaborate a little more… Time for another thread. So grab a snack…
Last week I read a bit of that interview of Mark Zuckerberg where he was talking about their next VR headset. He went on to talk about how right now, they are getting their Avatars to be more expressive… such as Mouth movement, eyebrows… etc. Sounded a lot like…
…A lot like what apple showed us in 2017… Animoji. They had the Mouth and Eyebrow thing nailed down like 5 years ago, just think of where they are at right now. In 2017, they didn’t call it an Avatar, and they certainly didn’t talk about a Metaverse.
