From the DM’s

Looks like the UCP has released their policy proposals for their AGM…

It’s…

Well, it’s probably exactly what most of you expect.

Including the start of defunding abortions.

*thread*

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
Let’s start with the “not teaching kids anything that might make them aware of their privilege even if it’s anti-racist, intersectional or has anything to do with diversity or inclusion…

/2
From there, let’s go straight to a voucher system for all schooling, what could go wrong?

/3
How about making sure that no matter what, cities like #YYC and #YEG can’t ever get close to their own versions of “sovereignty”, cause that’s super bad for everyone…

/4
On the subject of energy, one of the proposals calls for the outright banning of wind & solar in any areas that could be used for agriculture…

/5
You know what we really need back in Alberta politics?

CORPORATE MONEY!

/6
You know what else we need? Patients making their own decisions about what meds and treatments they want to try despite evidence!

That’ll go well…

/7
Remember how the UCP said they would never go after abortion?

One of the policies?

Let’s defund some abortions!

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

/8
Sometimes you have to wonder if a policy is solving a perceived problem or just advancing an agenda…

Is the government currently forcing parents to acknowledge trans kids?

/9
Ooooo looks like maybe Team Smith contributed this one?

Pretty much says Sovereignty Act without saying it and ignores this is federal jurisdiction for approval…

/10

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
And they’re doubling down on conscience rights, even refining the wording…

So if you want medical treatment, there’s a “right to try”, unless you’re…

somehow disagreeable?

/11
That’s just what we’ve been sent so far…

We’re told these are all policies to be debated for acceptance at the October UCP AGM, they have been sent out to prioritize order of debate.

If the Socons really have showed up…

Dark days in ‘Berta.

/fin

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
As a postscript…

What does it cost to vote on this radioactive dumpster fire of policies?

(And yikes! They doubled the observer pass cost!)

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
Another postscript…

So that was super well executed apparently…

Today on "Danielle Smith lies a lot and very, very easily about unimportant details just to make a story sound better..."

Earlier today she tweeted out this picture, claiming that it was from the opening of a new recovery community...

/1

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli Image
It seems weird that you would have a crowd that big for a recovery community opening...

Especially when it appears to be in downtown Calgary.

Where they haven't opened any recovery communities.

But that's where this note gets to be important.

/2 Image
Because it turns out that "Cameron" was a performer at a street festival held for "Recovery Day", who is kinda big deal in the country music community, having just been nominated for 6 awards at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards and winning 2.

Today, the @albertandp had quite the get!

A briefing memo on the future of pharmacare for Albertans.

If you’re expecting Smith to deliver on her promises of “we’ll opt out of the federal program to make pharmacare better”…

This ain’t it.

Especially if you’re a senior.

/1 Image
So what are the coles notes?

Basically, the UCP seem to be believing that seniors have access to meds that prevent health conditions from getting worse is just costing too darn much.

So what if, just like the did with AISH, they create a new program where seniors get less!

/2 Image
The proposal is to get rid of all the separate programs that exist to care for people with different needs and means and just create a single one that is income tested against seniors and their families!

What could go wrong?

(Obviously lots)

Since Smith and the UCP have announced a delayed deadline for the first “CorruptCare” investigation report…

We thought it might be fun to offer up a mini-report tonight!

So strap in, cause this gets wild!

/1 Image
Today, the Globe & Mail dropped a story about two characters who have had their toes in both AHS MHCare waters.

Allegedly, Jitendra Prasad was working both sides of the fence when Alberta Surgical Group was trying to get new contracts after being turned down.

/2 Image
Even more intriguing, the report allegedly also claims that Blayne Iskiw, who was later hired by MHCare pushed through contract terms that were above and beyond what his coworkers believed should have been offered.

Scoop!

Danielle Smith says that she wants to bring a Provincial Police force because the RCMP can't keep boots on the ground.

But what about the Alberta Sherrifs?

We filed a FOIP and you can come along for the ride!

/1

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
Going back to 2024, the RCMP called out Smith for presenting inaccurate vacancy numbers.

Here's that story via CTV.

/2

ctvnews.ca/edmonton/artic…
So 124 unfilled positions & 182 officers on leave for a total vacanacy rate of 17.3%.

But what happens if we take a closer look?

“Hard Vacancies” (fully unfilled positions) sit at 6.99%.

“Soft Vacancies” (vacancies created by leaves of) are at 10.27%.

Ok then.

Let's take a look at the great "Ali" UCP scandal of 2025!

Yesterday a judge found 6 people in contempt for irregular donations to the UCP.

This touched off a bit of a firestorm.

Let's unpack it!

With a twist!

/1

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli Image
The issue is that there are 6 individuals who refused to cooperate into an elections Alberta investigation...

From Canlii, here's the Cole's notes.

/2 Image
We took a look at the Elections Alberta financial disclosure website.

All six individuals are from Edmonton and they all made the maximum donation ($4300) in Q2 of 2023.

Now where all of the confusion comes in has to do with just one of the names, Ali Assa Haymour.

It is a sad state in Alberta politics.

Just over a week ago, we asked our audience to ignore an account that was set up clearly to troll us and harass a journalist and private citizen.

/1

#abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli
Since that time there have been multiple coincidences that suggest some connection between an individual known to “fix” in politics, that account and another individual.

/2
We have since been provided a court ruling that clearly spells out that one of these individuals has a history of criminal harassment and severe untreated mental health issues (as of May 2025).
