Experience:
The company is commanded by 2 reserve officers, neither of which have any previous military experience.
Of the 120 men in the company, only 4 of them had ever been in combat.
The company was sent into battle in March of this year without receiving any training.
In 6 months:
40 of its personnel have been killed or seriously injured.
A further 24 of the volunteers had to terminate their service due to 'serious health issues' that were ignored when they enlisted.
A further 30+ fighters have been deemed unfit for service due to their age and health, but have not been dismissed.
85% of all the fighters have not been on leave for 6 months.
The unit is no longer able to conduct offensive operations.
Recent fighting:
The remaining 40-50 fighters were spread out thinly over 1.5-2km of the front. Platoons could not reach each other in the event of an attack.
As a result, a platoon was overrun by 🇺🇦 forces and 11 fighters were taken prisoner. No one could get to them in time.
The next day, 🇺🇦 artillery targeted the company trenches. One platoon, which did not have a commander (he was taken off duty due to being diabetic), ran away as soon as shelling stopped.
Another platoon, climbing out of cover, found a group of heavily armed men in foreign uniforms and blue armbands on their sleeves on the foxhole ledge. They were taken prisoner.
The 3rd platoon managed to defend against the 🇺🇦 forces during the day. But by nightfall, the platoon had run out of ammunition. It was then accidentally hit by friendly artillery but did not have any way to communicate and stop the barrage.
Having lost half its men, 3rd platoon withdrew in the darkness, carrying several wounded.'
Whilst only one company's experiences, this account seems to be representative of many other units who are using pro-Russian platforms to condemn how the war is being conducted.
