That Hindutva right wing majoritarian ideology is rearing its ugly head in the multicultural, relatively peaceful communities in Britain is a worry. @ukhomeoffice, @WMPolice @metpoliceuk need to understand what's happening in India. There it has Govt and police support

There has been a move for sometime to create an impression that there is in Britain and among the British establishment an element of Hinduphobia. In this the Hindu Right wing seeks parity with antisemitism and Islamophobia.

It is a well known development in America where #RSS sponsored affiliates have invited divisive rabid speakers from India at major events. @Hindus4HR there has joined forces with others like @IAMCouncil to combat it.

This by the Indian academic Apoorvanand is topical. Intolerance, ostracism and downright hostilty towards other faiths and minorities, but esp targeting Muslims, has been the staple of the Right wing BJP and RSS in India.

Leicester Police have been very active in dealing with this threat to community peace and well-being. They pout out this statement in the early hours of Sunday 18th Sep

Police officers have held meetings with community leaders. They call "or dialogue and calm ...," and, "will NOT tolerate violence or disorder in our city."

They have also called on people "to only share information on social media you know to be true." Misinformation and disinformation and espo rumours are dangerous.
