Is the pandemic over?

4) Damnit… we have seen the “it’s over” dismissive nonsense before. Remember in May 2021 when CDC dropped mask mandate? Remember how many died in the subsequent August-September 2021 #Deltavariant wave and then the Dec-Feb first #Omicron wave??? ➡️Hundreds of thousands died.

11) and no, COVID is still not the flu yet Damnit. COVID still kills orders of magnitude more. The data doesn’t lie.

Scientists have developed a mask that lets wearers know if they’ve been exposed to COVID or influenza. A sensor built into a mask was able to detect the #COVID19, H5N1 & H1N1 viruses in the air within 10 minutes and send notifications to a device.

2) The new device, which is mounted outside the mask with a rechargeable lithium battery, was tested by spraying pathogens on it in an indoor setting, simulating a scenario where someone is talking or coughing.
3) Sensors responded to liquid about 70 to 560 times less than the amount produced in a sneeze, sending alerts to wireless devices like a phone.

Heck no. With all due respect, @JoeBiden — you’re wrong. Pandemic is not over. Almost 3,000 Americans are dying from #COVID19 every single week.

A weekly 9/11 is a very big deal. Don’t even get me started on #LongCOVID—wreaking havoc on millions more.
I hope every Democratic Member of Congress joins me in questioning the administration on this. Tell @JoeBiden — don’t revoke #COVID19’s status as a Public Health Emergency. Don’t declare “Mission Accomplished” too soon.
