So last night
@POTUS
revealed what those of us who have been paying attention already knew. The world is closer to #Armageddon than at any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis. cbsnews.com/news/biden-arm…
why did he say it, was it just an old man's flub to be walked back like the Taiwan comments (could it be walked back), or was it deliberate and if so, who was the audience. I think some context is needed.
First, Russia has been making nuclear threats for months and has already engaged in nuclear terrorism at least 2 nuclear sites in #Ukraine: Zaporizhya and Chernobyl and recently his puppets have begun openly discussing the use of strategic nuclear weapons in response to
battlefield reversals in Ukraine. Third, despite these threats the US has continued to supply Ukraine and keeps announcing more and more "security assistance" packages. I think these 3 facts together show the US is taking a poker rather than chess approach. Biden's statement was
clearly aimed at both Putin's insiders (calling his bluff), and letting China (who plays Go) that the US is all in. A Biden also said it's hard to see how a "tactical" nuclear release doesn't escalate. I've made that same observation many times. Once someone
crosses that Rubicon there is no way to believe they won't do it again and so it's a life-or-death situation. Russia also knows that any release will see at a minimum a massive NATO conventional response and so might as well go all in ad initio and try for a decapitation strike
which will of course fail leading to both counter-force and counter-value strikes and poof, welcome to the New Dark Age if you happen to avoid being killed and survive the post exchange die off. The net result of Biden's comments is generals and wonks in DC, Moscow and Bejing are
all now in crisis mode. In Moscow any sane heads that have access are trying to dissuade Putin from becoming the last leader of Russia and in China the experts are pushing Xi to confront Putin (privately) to back away from the nuclear red line. Xi doesn't want to be the last
emperor of China any more than Putin's cronies want the pedofillic nutter to be the last Czar. In DC and the West the response is going to be more diverse. The appeasers and vatnik lovers will start their "Chicken Little" song and dance and base political opportunists will
provide the chorus. People with actual expertise know that what the president said is a simple truth. We have already seen how many retired generals say this? The institutional thinking didn't change 180 after the last retirement. So what about the little people, you and I and
like us. We have no big levers to move policy and yet our lives are being ransomed by Kleptograd on one hand and antied up on the other. Do we get a say? Yes we do. I urge you to contact your leaders and tell them we must oppose genocide and nuclear terrorism or it will never
stop. I know @JohnBoozman, @SenTomCotton, and @RepFrenchHill know the stakes. Russia is not going to let Camden, AR off the hook for building #HIMARS. The bridges over the Mississippi, LR Airforce Base #HercNation and probably a dozen other doomsday pies ready to be eaten.
if we don't stand up now, then eventually it will be too late and there won't be a way to talk the madman off the ledge. He is mad by the way, complete nutter and he would feel as much remorse taking us all with him as a school shooter does in killing kids. He is evil at the
most base level. But unlike school shooters, he is not completely isolated from reality. He had to make a statement about the botched mobilization after all. Plus, we are now getting reports of some serious infighting among his inner circle. I don't care who wins that fight so
long as they are "a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought" believers. Thats the only criteria for who the "least evil" of Putin's inner circle grand championship event winner is. That power struggle brings up another facet of the conversation. Should Ukraine slow
down? Would a Ukrainian pause give the any anti-nuclear voices more or less assistance in the power struggle? We already know what the Vatnik line is, but a broken clock is still right twice a day so.... In this case though they are still wrong. Putin wants a frozen conflict, he
is all but begging for it. Only the complete rupture of the Russian position in Ukraine will give any voices inside the Kremlin any weight at all to get him to take the Yeltsin deal where his and his families person safety and wealth is vouch safed by whomever takes the crown.
That means the fighting, dying and suffering must continue. It sucks this is a war that never should have happened. So until Putin decides how he will exit the stage we need to keep doing our part. Keep donating to worthwhile charities like @MriyaAid, @UkraineAidOps and other
charities you trust. Combat Russian dis-info and help #NAFO and the #FELLAS keep the cause of Ukraine alive online. Plus if you join NAFO you will help support some ass kicking wolves in the @georgian_legion as they turn invaders into compost. Combating Russian dis-info requires
good information so hunt down reliable sources and listen in to the @MriyaReport and then take what you know to your coworkers, neighbors and family members there is a lot of bad info and fear going around. Do your part to counter it. Promote Ukraine and Ukrainian voices, robust
public support of Ukraine is how our politicians know to stand up to the nuclear threats. Which by the way brings up a, "Merica fuck yeah" moment. 3 in 4 of my countrymen back Ukraine despite the nuclear threats reuters.com/world/europe/t…
so util Ukraine wins on Ukraine's terms: Slava Ukraini! PS give @ValerijZaluznij a follow. Officers and historians will be studying him for generations to come. In it too win it!
#RussiaIsATerroristState #RussiaIsLosing #UkraineWillWin #GenocideOfUkrainians #NuclearArmageddon @mfa_russia <--- still losing and your furher has had at least 1 too many birthdays and if you don't stop him your kids will have too few of them.

I freely admit I am not an engineer, however, as a truck driver I know something about roads and pot holes that I feel is germane to the conversation about the Kerch Strait bridge. What we know is that half the road way was dropped and one of the rail lines was roasted. Thats the
That is the absolute best case scenario. That would mean a loss of 50% each of max road and rail traffic at a minimum since the remaining capacity now has to be divided to continue two way traffic. Now if the peak capacity thats left still exceeds the needs of the Russian army
then the impact on combat operations won't matter much for now. If the new peak is less than what the army requires well then in plain English: that's a problem. However much capacity is left however is sitting on a timer. The roadway will be the easiest to repair because the

So, #Ukraine went all in for Putin's birthday celebration. I mean they pulled out all the stops. First there was the giant barbeque at Ilovaisk... Potentially hundreds were served.

But the unwrapping through once the dance floor was cleared...

Do people have the right to secede from the nation they belong too without there being some extreme factors in play like say a genocide? After all East Timor, Eritrea and Kosovo recently separated (among others). Who should get a vote in such referendums?
Another example is the Scottish referendum held just before Brexit. How often do separatist minded desires get a vote? One and done, generationally, yearly? Then there was the dissolution of the USSR and a US court case from the immediate post civil war era where secession
required the will of all the citizens of the state to be split to enact such a split. I am sure there are other examples as well but I am going to dig into the cases listed above to explore the idea of secession.

Part 2: Near and Longer Term Ukrainian Armor needs. To start some caveats. 1. I don't know the average bridge loading of Ukrainian bridges, 2. how many (if any) class 70 AVLB and bailey bridges they have 3. the maximum width of track vehicles on Ukranian trains. 4. Ukraine
uses the 4 tank platoon doctrinally. 5. Ukraine may have lost as many as half its pre-war tank fleet of mostly T-64BV tanks. 6. The main combat formation is the brigade. With all that said let's dig in. I think its obvious that I think that the big western MBT's are superior for
a number of reasons from crew efficiency, to sensing and FCS but also gun power. One of the big oft overlooked draw backs of the T series tanks is two piece ammo. This limits the overall L/D ratio of the sabots and this impacts performance. NATO APFSDS penetrators extend down

Lets talk tanks Part 1. West vs East. The T90m is the ultimate evolution of the lessons of WWII that lead to the development of the T-44. When the T-44 got the 100mm gun it was renamed T-54 that lead to the T-62 but the Khrushchev said the Red Army's manning costs were too high
so the T-64 was created. It originally had the same 115mm gun. But then material costs were too high so we got the T-72... Then Iraq and the T-72 was rebranded the T-90. All evolutions of a tank prototyped in 1943. This design lineage has always stressed good frontal protection
low profile and a big gun. It was successful in many ways. At the end of WWII the USSR had a massive fleet of heavy tanks that could smash just about anything they could see. Yet with the introduction of the T-54 they began to be replaced and moved to reserve units because the

Look, I get why @elonmusk stepped in it and why he decided to follow @Pontifex onto the road to appeasement. We live in scary times and human nature is to find some place to hole up when danger looms, physically, mentally, spiritually we look for a way to escape the Angel of
Death's gimlet eye. I've got kids and grandkids too so I get the fear of nuclear war. Reports like this raises all sorts of hairs on the back of my neck. I don't know if the photo was a real, "hey looky here" indicating #Putin is serious about #nuclear
release or more, "I said hey looky here" suggesting a staged propaganda bit. Unlike some I don't think Russia's nuclear forces are anywhere near the level of corruption and shit sandwich of the regular army. I think they are probably tip top like their space program. They get
