I am continuously struck by the normalization of an act of extremism based on #InfoOps radicalizing those on the right (& some on the left). Taking some legitimate grievances & weaponizing them.

If a large group of non-white people with 400 large rigs, shut down the core of the nation’s capital, continuously blaring deafening air horns, amassing containers of fuel alongside open flames & fireworks, endangering children present, harming residents….

…getting #ConvoyFinancing for their op from foreign extremists like far right Republicans. Shutting down major border crossings costing billions in losses, engaging in conspiracies to, at the very LEAST, sabotage the workings of gov’t, providing fodder to foreign adversaries…

…The list goes on. But no one has to wonder how quickly @OPP @OttawaPolice would’ve made arrests. How quickly #DougFord’s gov’t would’ve used its powers to shut it down. But ALL of them failed re #FluTruxKlan. So feds were forced to step in with #EmergenciesAct.

This was, at least in part, a purposeful attempt to force the Trudeau gov’t’s hand. #Conservatives promoted & participated in a destabilization operation against the gov’t, then attempted to use this op to attack the gov’t. #EmergenciesActInquiry

And remember Elliot McDavid, the far right extremist who verbally threatened Chrystia Freeland? In one of his many online videos, he could be seen palling around with law enforcement. He also said the quiet part out loud back in February (see his quote in Reuters) #EmergenciesAct

And now @OPP is trying to claim #EmergenciesAct wasn’t necessary?? Vaguely aping the reasoning from #DarkMoney funded RW “charity” front group #JCCF - that participated in this op every step of the way? It’s outrageous. #EmergenciesActInquiry #cdnpoli

And by the way, #OPP has yet to demonstrate they did any forensic analysis of the different forms of #ConvoyFinancing. If they only looked at crowdfunding, they did NOT examine the financing of #FluTruxKlan op.
