Who stole the raccoon? Small THREAD about the video and the person who takes the animal.

In the video, you can see Oleg Zubkov. He is a director of the Yalta Zoo and the Taigan Lion Park founder. Zubkov was a deputy in the Crimean Autonomous Republic in the 2000s. /1

The original video was posted on Zubkov's Youtube channel with the name "We are in Kherson! Catch 7 raccoons in 7 minutes". There are also plenty of other videos with different animals being taken from Kherson.

His biography is interesting. He openly supported the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014. /3

Later, he discovered that developing his business after the annexation was much harder, bc of corruption, etc. Except that, since many tourists were from Ukraine, visitor numbers have decreased by 70%, according to his interview in 2017. /4

He often complained about corruption and had more than 100 trials. Zubkov once said he doesn't feel like a human in Russia. In 2018 in an interview, he said life in Ukraine was better, and he regretted the decision to join Russia. /5

In August this year, he was sentenced to 2,5 years in prison because of the incident in his park. A lion in the safari park bit a Russian tourist.

Less than two weeks after he was released, he already posted videos from Kherson on his YouTube channels. Interestingly, after his release from prison, he immediately got a job to do in the newly occupied territories. A typical thing in Russia nowadays… /8
