#Bhagawadgita chintana🧵

Margasira sukla Ekadasi is revered as Geeta Jayanthi, the day Lord #SriKrishna counselled Arjuna with his famous preaching #Bhagawadgita. But it was not first time Supreme God preaching the philosophy and Arjuna was not the first person to be imparted with the divine knowledge.+

In 4th Canto #JnaAnaYoga (sloka #1) Sri Krishna says,
" I taught this imperishable Yoga (Bhagawadgita)
to #Vivaswan (Sun God-Surya);
He (#Surya) in turn taught it to #Manu (#Vaivaswatha) who in turn taught it to #Ikshvaaku (in whose dynasty Lord Sri #Ramachandra was born)". +

#Geetabhashya (commentary on Bhagavad Gita) was the first work by Sri #Madhwacharya wherein He had established the supremacy of #BhagavadGita over all other scriptures.
Sri Madhvacharya has written two commentaries on Bhagavadgita viz.

#Bhagawadgita contains 701 verses out of which only one by #Dhritarashtra and the rest reported by #Sanjaya.

While the opening word of Bhagawadgita is "#Dharma" closing word is "#Mama" signifying that #Geeta is My Dharma (#MamaDharma); +

यत्र योगेश्वर: कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धर: |
तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम ||

Wherever is #SriKrishna D lord of #Yoga; wherever is #PaArtha D archer; there, R prosperity, victory, happiness & firm (steady/sound/stable) policy (moral/Dhruvaneeti)

#Bhagawadgita is a hand book of instructions on the art of living. It is called #JeevanaDharmaYogaSasthra. Geeta Shastra is intended to remove the cause of #Samsara such as grief and delusion. +

It is the right understanding of the immortal culture of #Vedas and #Upanishads. It contains the essence of Hindu Philosophy and culture. It is not merely a text book of Hinduism rather it is sacred text of humanity. +

It is a practical handbook of instructions to the man on how to live nobly and grow out of his instinctive weaknesses. It says that running away from life is not the way to reach the highest goal of evolution. +

The creed of Geeta is, that spirituality can be lived in life and true spiritual understanding is an asset to a man engaged in the battle of life. +

#Bhagawadgita gives an easy thumb rule as to what types of values and mental attitudes one should develop in order to realize the ever-effulgent Divinity in them; the pure awareness. +

Epic #Mahabharatha written by Lord Sri #Vedavyasa is not just a sacred script alone; rather it is a culmination of Brahmasutras, Upanishads, Puranas, #Bhagawadgita, Vishnu Sahasranama etc. That’s why it is called #PanchamaVeda. +

Bhagawadgita a part of #Mahabharatha is essence of #Upanishads.

Can there B a better teacher than #SriKrushnaParamaAtma? & better teaching than #Bhagawadgita?

Bhagawadgita & #VishnuSahasranama Stotram R 2 great gems of Hindu spirituality carved out from great epic Mahabharata.+

Glory & Merits (Mahatmya) of #Bhagwadgita has been spelled out by none other than Bhagawan #Vishnu Himself that we come across in Sri #Varaha Purana. +

अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्त: सर्वं प्रवर्तते |
इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विता: || 10.8||

ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate
iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ

(Vibhooti Yoga) ++

#SriKrishna says " I am the origin of all creation. Everything proceeds from me. The wise who know this perfectly worship me with great faith and devotion.” +

"He is the Supreme Ultimate Truth & cause of all causes.” He has repeated this multiple times in Bhagavad Gita; it is also strongly proclaimed in all other scriptures. +

सर्वस्य चाहं हृदि सन्निविष्टो मत्त: स्मृतिर्ज्ञानमपोहनं च |
वेदैश्च सर्वैरहमेव वेद्यो वेदान्तकृद्वेदविदेव चाहम् || 15.15||

In #PurushottamaYoga, #SriKrishna says, He is antharyami (in-dweller) seated in D hearts of all living beings, & is source of their memory, knowledge, ++

as well as its loss. He is to be known through Vedas, He is the subject of all Vedas, the Veda Karta, and verily the knower of true meaning of Vedas;

वेदे रामायणे चैव पुराणे भारतेतथा।
आदौ अन्ते च मध्ये च विष्णुः सर्वत्र गीयते॥

आदि, अन्त, मध्यभाग of वेद, रामायण, पुराण and महाभारत... all of them sing the glories of #Vishnu the Supreme God.
He is extolled in the world as well as in Vedas (sacred scripts) as the Supreme Being (Sarvottama). ++

In supreme sense #Purushottama (Purusha+Uttama) is inherent nature & attribute of Lord #Vishnu with which He is referred to. It means, the greatest among all the Purushas (not gender based); the Supreme Soul (highest spirit), the universal being who is omnipotent & omniscient.+

#Purushottama is the superlative form of Lord #Vishnu (#Purusha).

Chapter #15 of #Bhagawadgita (#PurushottamaYoga) that reveals the knowledge of the true nature of the Supreme God is exclusively dedicated to #Purushottama. +

यस्मात्क्षरमतीतोऽहमक्षरादपि चोत्तम: |
अतोऽस्मि लोके वेदे च प्रथित: पुरुषोत्तम: ||

In sloka 18 #SriKrishna says, He is #Purushottama because, He transcend D perishable & is superior to D imperishable & eulogized in D world as well as in Vedas as D Supreme Being.+

He further adds that, whoever knows Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead without any delusion knows Him well and worships Him always with total devotion. +

He who has realized this #PURUSHOTTAMA-STATE of consciousness becomes 'wise,' for he cannot thereafter make any error of judgment in life and thereby create confusions and sorrows for himself and for others around him. +

उत्तम: पुरुषस्त्वन्य: परमात्मेत्युदाहृत:
यो लोकत्रयमाविश्य बिभर्त्यव्यय ईश्वर:15.17
SriKrishna spell out superiority of #ParamaAtma D SupremeSoul #PURUSHOTTAMA who is immensely superior 2 #Jeevatma, indestructible, Antaryami, pervades in all; controller & supports all in 3 worlds

प्रकृते: क्रियमाणानि गुणै: कर्माणि सर्वश:|
अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते || 3.27

All actions are being done by the modes of Prakruthi (Primordial matter). The fool whose mind is deluded by egoism considers himself to be the doer.

Sri #madhvAchArya in #GitAtAtparya says..+

nAham kartA hariH kartA tatpUjA karmachaakhilam.h|
taThaapi matkR^itaa pUja tatprasaadhEna naanyaThaa|
tadbhakti tadphalam.h mahyam.h tatprasaadaat.h punaH punaH |
karmanyaasO harAvevam.h vishNOsthR^iptikaraH sadhA || +

"I am not the doer, #sriHari is the doer, all actions that I do are His worship. Even then, the worship I do is through His grace & not otherwise. That devotion & fruits of actions that come to me are due to His recurring grace " +

If one always practices to do actions with a dedicated spirit to #SriHari, in this way, it pleases #Bhagawan #Vishnu. (#HariPreeti)
