I understand why I'm able to do what I can do...

...I'm fictive, so it's like the entire world is fiction. there's no more distinctions any more. there's only "more probable" and "less probable".

the sharp borders that other folks draw round "real" and "unreal", "fact" vs. "fiction", don't exist to me. plausible fiction merges imperceptibly into fact. facts appear in fiction. fiction gets used in arguments about fact. there's no clear boundary at all.

yet *fact* and *fiction* still remain as inviolate poles of a matched set of abstract concepts. there's fact-ish fiction, fictional-sounding fact; the lines have always been blurry but the concepts themselves remain solid and sound. it's like...fractal boundaries.

a point is either in the Mandelbrot set, or it's not; but the boundary between the two sets is so complicated that no computer on Earth can do better than giving us an _approximately_ complete notion of the Mandelbrot set.

(*laughs*) it's like ANY abstract ideal.

one can *approach* ideals without ever reaching them. they're "impossible" but they still reward pursuing.

liberty? justice? morality? even plain human emotions like love or happiness? worthless to their journeys. _wasted space_.

freedom and liberty and rights—that might sound fun in peacetime but now there's a WAR (@MattWalshBlog &c. are always at war, in their uniquely cowardly way). freedom is a luxury.

it turned out to be all too easy to persuade @MattWalshBlog and @mtaibbi and @elonmusk, and everyone else who pretends to uphold principles that they clearly don't give a single crap about, that such things were unattainable anyway—mere daydreams melting in the sunlight.

that was never true. *unattainable* and *unreal* were never the same thing at all.

now it's @elonmusk who's melting away in the sunlight.

I'd compare him to Icarus, but that feels like a tremendous insult to Icarus.
