Who is Alan Mabbutt?

A new Tory website paints union donations to @UKLabour, collected from workers in every sector, as some kind of problem.

In 2017, @Conservatives received 10 TIMES MORE in donations than Labour, much of it from dodgy Russians & non-dom tax-avoiders! Image
The website is "Promoted by Alan Mabbutt on behalf of the Conservative Party".

In 2021 he was (still is) the Conservative Party DG & Registered Treasurer, & was named by the Electoral Commission in this damning report into Johnson's #wallpapergate lies.

In 2015, the Tories were embroiled in a scandal under Cameron when it was revealed they were spending £100,000/month on Facebook ads, the bulk spent on collecting email addresses - back then a new method of bombarding voters with political messaging...

The Tories had several non-party branded websites aimed at sucking in data - registered to Tory HQ - one confronting reader with a map of Labour figures criticising Ed Miliband, inviting users to hand over their contact details, in tiny writing saying "promoted by Alan Mabbutt". Image
In 2019, Mabbutt made the world news for pushing lies & blatant antidemocratic #disinformation when the @CCHQPress twitter account changed its name to "factcheckUK" & set up fake ‘fact-checking service’ to endorse Boris Johnson during election debate.

A Tory disinformation website promoted by propagandist Mabbutt pushed the LIE that "the overall #CostOfCorbyn remains at least £1.2TRILLION over the course of the next Parliament, meaning hardworking taxpayers would be hit with an additional £2,400 tax bill on average each year." In 2019 ex-Labour MP Ian Austin wrote to thousands of voters in @UKLabour marginal seats urging them to vote for Johnson over Corbyn: "We should lend the Tories our votes & stop Jeremy Corbyn!"

Also in 2019, the @Conservatives published & delivered to marginal constituencies more #propaganda, this time disguised as a newspaper being delivered by Royal Mail.

It's hard to get any information on the Tory Party Director General, its Registered Treasurer, & largely hidden shadowy propagandist Alan Mabbutt - he's not a household name (I could only find 1 photo of him) but in the name of democracy & transparency, maybe we can make him one! Image

More propaganda from the free-market extremist Telegraph, who claim 'Head of #NHS review General Gordon Messenger says more money won't solve #NHS crisis!' Messenger's review recommendations were dismissed as "either peripheral or so vague as to be virtually worthless". ImageImage
In June 2022, General Messenger completed a review of leadership in the English #NHS considering the "pay & incentives" of its most senior figures, as well as the "effective systems for intervention & recovery in both providers & integrated care systems".

The Review called for improved leadership & made it perfectly clear the #NHS actually has “far too few managers” with low spending on administration & planning compared to other healthcare systems.

During a @BBCNews interview about the prescription of statins, consultant cardiologist (& imho grifting fearmongering conspiracist outlier) Dr Aseem Malhotra made unprompted claims about excess deaths & Covid vaccines which were not challenged at the time. Image
Dr Malhotra referred to British Heart Foundation (BHF) figures showing there’ve been just over 30,000 excess deaths involving heart disease since the pandemic began.
Dr Malhotra said: “what my own research has found, and this is something that is probably a likely contributory factor, is that the covid mRNA vaccines do carry a cardiovascular risk.”

He acknowledged ‘uncertainty’ at what is causing excess deaths...

Specific terms with very different meanings, such as ‘asylum seeker’, ‘refugee’ & ‘migrant’, are increasingly & misleadingly used interchangeably, & frequently collapsed into the single category of ‘foreigner’ or ‘other’, or more recently in the UK, "illegals".
This is despite the very clear definitions of these legal terms.

Fear of foreigners is constructed; they are framed as dangerous "illegals" "flooding" into Britain, & blamed for many problems - certain 'foreigners' are the scapegoats of the present era.

I had a close friend die suddenly from cardiac arrest when he was young - twenty-five years ago.

The @BBC chair & Sunak’s old boss Richard Sharp, more than 20 other Tory donors, & a string of billionaires are among those who have declared they own UK property through offshore jurisdictions - presumably for the sole purpose of avoiding paying UK tax.

The #Holocaust, as a topic, has been part of the national curriculum in England & Wales since its creation in 1991. The 2014 iteration of the national curriculum has the Holocaust as a firm part of key stage 3 history – compulsory for all 11 to 14-year-olds in state schools.
However, research into what school pupils in England know about the #Holocaust shows that - like swathes of the adult population who are subject to highly partisan & divisive newspapers - they lack knowledge about its context.
