A disgusting far-right hate-preacher, in the UK. There should be no place for this kind of hateful, ill-informed, misleading, divisive, & dangerously irresponsible rhetoric in twenty-first century Britain.
Did some British people really learn NOTHING from WWII & the #Holocaust?
“Wesley Russell” is a Patriotic Alternative -affiliated streamer & rising star of the dangerous far-right neofascist movement. HOPE not hate revealed that he is Alec Cave, from Milton Keynes.
Cave hosted the little-viewed “Renew Britannia” show, since rebranded as the “Nefarious
Podcast”.
He has also hosted a run of episodes of the Patriotic Talk “aftershow”, where the main hosts hand over to less prominent, and often younger, activists in the British far right.
Cave runs a growing Telegram channel & has been touted by Patriotic Alternative's Mark Collett as “the brightest young star” of PA, & was afforded a speech at the national PA conference in 2021, indicating that he is being lined up for a more prominent role in the organisation.
On 30 October 2021, Mark Collett took to the
stage at a Hotel in the Lake District to address the national conference of Patriotic Alternative , the largest fascist group active in the UK - many claim they are behind the wave of protests outside hotels housing asylum seekers.
Mark Collett, the founder and leader of Patriotic Alternative, told the assembled crowd of over 200 far-right activists: “Today, I want to talk about victory”.
At the 2021 Patriotic Alternative 'conference' Collett described the event as “the biggest nationalist conference of its kind this century”, representing “a huge turnaround in fortunes that we, as a movement, have had since the demise of the British National Party in 2010.”
Collett is the BNP’s former head of publicity &
a lifelong Nazi. Sadly, there is some truth in the claim that, since its launch in September 2019, Patriotic Alternative has provided leadership for the UK’s beleaguered fascist scene not witnessed since the collapse of the BNP.
Like the BNP, PA aims to lay the groundwork for a white ethnostate, but differs markedly in both organisation & strategy, posing a different
kind of threat.
PA adopts a multi-pronged approach, using various forms of traditional campaigning and
online activism.
It's aim is to spread explicitly racist & antisemitic messages and to build far-right communities. By downplaying its underlying Nazi doctrine and presenting a superficial “family friendly” image, it has drawn recruits from across the splintered British far right.
Patriotic Alternative has had some success in uniting the remnants of the BNP with former Conservative & UKIP hardliners, fascist hooligans, antiMuslim Tommy Robinson supporters, politically homeless “identitarians”, alt-right social media personalities & #Holocaust deniers.
The resurgence of the far-right is very real, & a cursory glance at any reputable news outlet reveals a terrifying rise in far-right activism & domestic terrorism.
Here's a summary of just some recent far-right terrorists in England.
Grotesque far-right rhetoric - including the use of antisemetic tropes & conspiracy theories, as well as the dangerously irresponsible "invasion" rhetoric - has been shamelessly normalised & mobilised by the current UK Government & the right-wing press.
A growing wealth of evidence - largely ignored by the billionaire-owned Tory-supporting press who were so keen to discuss #antisemitism when Corbyn was LOTO - STRONGLY suggests that many high-ranking @Conservatives do NOT honour #Holocaust survivors.
One part of the problem is that British people simply do not know about the horrors of Nazi ideology, nor the economic & political causes of Hitler's rise.
Worse still, UK Government Ministers DO know all this, but choose to plough on regardless.
On 11th January 2013, Simon Sweeney, Lecturer in international political economy at the University of York, had a letter published in the @guardian, asking 'what's the EU ever done for us'?
At last we may get a debate on Britain's relationship with Europe. What did the EEC/EU ever do for us? Not much, apart from: providing 57% of our trade; structural funding to areas hit by industrial decline; clean beaches and rivers; cleaner air; lead free petrol;
restrictions on landfill dumping; a recycling culture; cheaper mobile charges; cheaper air travel; improved consumer protection and food labelling; a ban on growth hormones and other harmful food additives; better product safety;
'This weekend saw us breaking records at Yorkshire Bylines, after an article by Dr Russell Jackson about #bbcqt really hit the sweet spot. It's already been read over 150k times in the space of just 48 hours, & is now our most widely read piece".
- @YorksBylines
'Analytics show that Dr Jackson's article has been read by people in 144 countries, so the interest in @BBC bias for @bbcquestiontime is widespread.
We're looking forward to publishing their response if & when it comes through.'
"This also means that our site has powered through five million visits, which is a pretty big milestone to have hit, particularly as we have yet to mark our third anniversary! But exciting as this all is, we didn't set up Yorkshire Bylines for reader numbers."

#THREAD on yet another divisive shit-stirrer, Martin Costello, former second-in-command of the oddball Trump-supporting group Make Britain Great Again (MBGA), who @hopenothate reported on in 2019 when he stood as a UKIP candidate in the Liden, Eldene & Park South ward of Swindon.
During his time at MGBA he could be found screaming “round up all illegal immigrants and get them out of here” at a pro-Trump event.
Costello is best known for being part of an incident in 2018 in which he & 11 others entered left-wing bookshop Bookmarks in London, instructed by MBGA leader Luke Nash-Jones to “make a right nuisance”.
In the resulting debacle, shop staff were abused and a sign was ripped up.
The @BBC has commissioned new drama 'The Way', written by James Graham (Sherwood, Quiz), directed by Michael Sheen (Good Omens, Staged), & co-created by Sheen, Graham & Adam Curtis (The Power Of Nightmares, HyperNormalisation).
It is developed and executive produced by Bethan Jones (War & Peace, Les Miserables).
The Way (3×60’) is Wales-based company Red Seam’s first production, made in association with Little Door Productions, and will film in and around Port Talbot later this year.
The Way “taps into the social & political chaos of today’s world by imagining a civil uprising which begins in a small industrial town. I’m such an admirer of Adam & James’ work, so to create this project with them in these extraordinary times has been thrilling”. - Michael Sheen
On #bbcqt, Robert Jenrick INSISTED that #Rwanda was "a safe country". Bullshit. The truth is, Rwanda is one of the most autocratic, authoritarian, & repressive regimes ON EARTH, ranked 150th out of 179 countries on the Index of Liberal Democracy.
The 2021 US State Dept of 'Democracy, Human Rights & Labour' report on Human Rights Practices in #Rwanda makes it clear that #Rwanda is anything but "a safe country".
Significant human rights issues included:
-harsh & life-threatening conditions in some detention facilities;
-unlawful & arbitrary killings by the government
-forced disappearance by the government
-torture by the government
-arbitrary detention
-political prisoners or detainees
-politically motivated reprisal against individuals located outside the country
While audience figures for controversial right-wing TV channels Murdoch's #TalkTV & the Dubai-based-multimillionaire-funded GB "News" are piss poor, bosses care more about “impact” than rankings, & other right-wing media organisations relentlessly amplify video clips.
For example, TalkTV & GB "News" clips appear & are amplified on @Youtube & social media platforms.
TalkTV said clips from Piers Morgan's Rishi Sunak interview had attracted more than two million social views by midday on Friday. But we know very little about who watches them.
Morgan’s interview with Sunak is not his biggest show to date in terms of viewership. His launch night interview with Donald Trump averaged 319,000 viewers, according to Barb figures. And the first of his two-part interview with Cristiano Ronaldo averaged 334,000 over the hour.
