I will publish the video analysis of why I think #Russia lost the battle for #Kyiv this afternoon
It took me quite a while and I missed my (self-imposed) deadline by a long shot (I had to learn all of the skills needed to make the video, from editing, making motion graphics, to filming narrating - lot to improve there), but it's finally ready.
Today, the tenth edition of the Ramstein Format to support #Ukraine will take place according to Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov
Reznikov also announced that #Ukraine will receive two Alkmaar class ships (minehunters) from the Netherlands
At the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of #Ukraine, US Secretary of Defense says "we are at a decisive moment in Ukraine's struggle for freedom"
There was supposed to be a swift takeover of the airport by VDV (airborne troops), alongside combat helicopters, paving the way for the arrival of heavy transports that would take off from Belarus and land in Hostomel
This was supposed to lead to a collapse of Ukrainian defensive lines, compounded by the expectation that Zelenskyy would flee. This collapse would help Russia push as many units into an undefended northern front from Belarus to Kyiv
Interesting statement from #Ukraine's head of military intelligence, who said he believes that if Russia had taken the Hostomel airport last year, Kyiv would likely have fallen
He said Moscow had a plan to take Kyiv in three days, and mop-up "points of resistance" in 10.
He also said Russia had not prepared any kind of alternative plan, and that Moscow expected the Ukrainian leadership to flee.
