Day 388 of the war. The day after the International Criminal Court indicted Putin with a war crime.
Welcome to Saturday's thread with all the news concerning #Ukraine's defence against #Russia's aggression & invasion.
Updated throughout the day so come back and check regularly!
Well Friday was an historic day as the current President of a permanent member of the UN Security Council was charged with a war crime. It will be the first of many.

There was also danger for the inhabitants of #Zaporizhzhia (RU: #Zaporozhe), but not from drones.
#Russia fired S-300 anti-aircraft missiles on the city, with two explosions from reports I've seen with the latest one being shortly after 03:00
No initial reports of damage yet.
The historic St Peter and Paul Orthodox Church is on fire. Situated quite near the centre, just outside the Garden Ring, it was reputedly designed by Peter The Great.
Thank you Sarah E for buying me a couple of coffees through the link on my profile page.
It takes a lot of work compiling these threads every day and I really appreciate any support 💙💛
This is the scene in #Zaporizhzhia where, as I reported earlier in the thread, #Russia struck with S-300 missiles.
A small cafe took the force of the hit, in a residential area. Most nearby apartments had their windows blown out.
Remarkably no one was injured.
880* invading soldiers from #Russia died in #Ukraine in the last 24 hours.
The Kremlin's total number of dead in the war may hit 165,000 tomorrow. It was just 16 days ago that the total reached 150k
Britain's Intel update today concentrates on #Russia's ability to call up new troops.
The change in conscript age may seem like no change with the same 10-year band. But it gives access all at once to all those who were 17, 18, 19 and 20 last year.
Debra Cohen has supported my work! Thanks for gifting me a coffee💙💛

The "Dragon's Teeth" here are on the Ak-Monaisky according to "Krym Realii", between the villages of Batalna and Primorsk.
A 77 year old man from #Perm' has been fined by a court in #Russia.
Recently he held a legal one-man protest. His placard said "Mr. Makhonin, I demand the completion of the SVO (war)." (Dmitry Makhonin is governor of Perm)
Viktor Gilin was found guilty of discrediting the army.
#BakhmutHolds
No real change in positions around the town in #Donetsk. However, #Russia has made some ground south-west of Bakhmut, towards #Ivanivske.
This continues the invaders' attempts to cut off #Ukraine troops defending the town.
A few more details are dribbling out from authorities in #Lviv following the drone strikes last night.
Governor Maksym Kozytskyi confirms 3 UAVs hit "non-residential buildings in Yavorivskyi district" near the border with Poland.
No casualties but no further details.
A weekend video postcard from #Vuhledar (RY: #Ugledar), which #Russia has been trying to capture for months.
On the final day of the old agreement, a new agreement for the grain deal has been reached, and it's for 120 days, which #Russia initially objected to.
Day 1247
It's never ending. At least it feels like it after another sleepless night and "peace talks" that lasted 40 minutes and Russia still refusing Trump's demand for a ceasefire, which Ukraine agreed to 135 days ago.
All the news, all the time, it's the daily Ukraine🧵
A quick reminder if you appreciate my work (and lack of sleep) you can donate coffee via the link in my bio🙏
But this is the link you probably really want! To check back on all yesterday's news, especially when Russia was attacked late at night.
You've found the start of another daily thread. I've not missed one day since Russia's full invasion, bringing all the Ukraine news in one handy thread every single day.
It's Day 1246, let's begin.
A late finish last night for me (yeah, not unusual), so a later start.
But not due to a massive Russian attack, but because of the political situation & public backlash
Another bumper thread, big Ukraine street protests for the 1st time in years in here
The biggest thing today will hopefully be the resumption of talks between Ukraine and Russia.
The meeting will again take place in Istanbul, starting at 7pm UKR time, 5PM BST, noon EST.
Venue is the Çırağan Palace - can't wait to hear reporters butcher that name😂 [Cheer-raan]
Day 1245
One thousand, two hundred + forty-five days of battling to survive against what was said to be the world's 2nd greatest army.
Ukraine's resistance has been heroic but still a lot of work to do.
I'm starting Tuesday's thread before sleep as the air attack just ended.
Monday's thread was another 50-post marathon
A lot of problems for Russia, with drones, planes, trains and the elements. But another major Ukraine city was hit in the early hours of this morning.

Day 1243 of Russia's gross violation of the peaceful world order. Breaking UN Rules and the Geneva Conventions. Doing anything to anyone in a bid to eliminate Ukraine and all its people who won't bow down to the Führer of the 21st century.
Here's yet another daily thread.
Well, for a country at war, it's been a quiet night and day so far in Ukraine.
Mind you, not so in Russia, and the previous 24 hours turned out a little crazy, with a 50-page thread to get your teeth into if you were busy on Saturday:
I finally made it, to start Saturday's daily thread covering all things about Russia's aggression, not only in Ukraine, but increasingly on all of its enemies.
It's Day 1242, which began after midnight with a mass of objects flying both both sides of the border.
Friday's was another huge thread, not surprising as it encompassed 24 hours from start to end.
