President Bashar al-Assad arrived on Sunday at noon in the United Arab Emirates on an official visit, accompanied by the First Lady Asma al-Assad.

Upon his arrival at the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency was received by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Upon entering the UAE airspace, President al-Assad’s plane was accompanied by several warplanes, welcoming his visit.

Later, President al-Assad headed to Qasr Al Watan to start talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

Mrs. Asma al-Assad will meet with the “Mother of the Emirates”, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation.

Upon his convoy’s arrival at Qasr Al Watan, an official reception ceremony was held for President al-Assad, where His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan accompanied President al-Assad to the podium of honor

& the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic was played, while the artillery fired 21 rounds & a group of honor guards lined up to salute his excellency.

President al-Assad was received by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of the Presidential Court,

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Adviser in the Presidential Court.

President al-Assad was also received by His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security, His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State,

Syrian Red Crescent: Militants prevent aid convoys from entering Idlib

The Syrian Red Crescent states that its convoy has been waiting for 12 days on the outskirts of Idlib and was not allowed to enter, due to the armed groups' refusal of all mediation.
