SHOCKING ⚠️
I just learned the reason for the baffling 🇨🇦silence at outcome of TOTALLY UNFAIR outcome of the 2016 #Olympics 800m women’s podium that featured three MALE winners, leaving #Canada’s #MelissaBishop in 4th place instead of winning 🥇 GOLD as she deserved:
A lawyer from @TeamCanada threatened #Canadian head coach @Head1Coach as follows:
“I was threatened by COC lawyers in 2016 not to speak up. If I said something I was told that I was going to be banned for life from sport.”
I do have his blessing to post this for the first time in public.
#UNSPORTING
#UNETHICAL
#cdnpoli
The injustice to one of our own female athletes from #Canada 🇨🇦 is breathtaking.
Our own country’s leadership would rather sellout to a cult rather than to defend one of our champions - even at the expense of waving GOODBYE to #Olympic Gold!! 🥇
Sacrificing a woman and her entire career on the alter of #GenderIdeology .
Just let that sink in. 🤯
This is on you @WorldAthletics !!
Shame on all of you.
#Disappointing
#Absurd
#Unsporting
We need both @WorldAthletics and the @iocmedia to restore justice to Canada’s #MelissaBishop immediately!
You can still do the right thing and give her the gold retrospectively like you do for doping cases.
Getting a medal in the mail isn’t great but at least it’s something.
#WorldAthletics
#OlympicGames
#GoldToMelissa 🥇
And the other medals to the deserving women.
🥈 🥉
From #Poland Poland 🇵🇱 & #GreatBritain 🇬🇧
Reminder 😢
For some athletes it’s not always a happy ending and the injustice will sit in the corner of their mind for life.
We won’t forget you #MelissaBishop 🌹🏆
You are one of the reasons we work hard to…
#SaveWomensSports
Ok.
A lot of people say they cannot see this video.
Here is my kitchen table recording…
What adds to the calamity is that 2016 Rio Olympics was the last chance that Melissa’s legendary coach, Dennis Fairall (who was battling a prolonged illness), would have been able to watch her win the medal she clearly deserved.
In sports there are no second chances usually.
Consequences & outcomes are real and have a huge impact on every person on the athlete support team.
It would have been the crowning 🇨🇦achievement for both athlete and coach.
#Heartbreaking 😢

Changing before our very eyes. 👀
When the @bcndp caucus all stood up and voted in unison against fairness for women and girls in #sports I turned to @Lea_Christina4 and whispered:
“The #NDP just lost the election.”
#bcpoli
#cdnpoli
Such a stupid political mistake!!
The #BCndp might have even stood a chance if they had voted YES to get to a second reading so they could forestall this embarrassment and study the bill more closely.
But they are so extremely ideologically driven that they simply could not bring themselves to even consider the #ProfressiveMisogyny BC women and girls are dealing with on a near daily basis.
They will reap the consequences.
*HIStrionics* THREAD ⚠️
Examination of an #Alberta 🇨🇦 man’s entitled demand to participate in women’s sport.
As many of you know, I have a standing rule to avoid visibility of AGPs because public exposure (even of the negative kind) feeds their fetish.
Therefore, I have redacted the name of the TRA who forced @Lea_Christina4 to go public in 2023 with his contemptible demand to compete as a “woman” in the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU).
Here is his latest self-pity diatribe as observed on #Instagram .
Over the ensuing SIX posts, allow me to inspect his claims more closely.
1. “I’m still alive.”
This is the attitude such men bring to women’s sports:
Essentially claiming that ‘if you don’t give me what I want I might ______ (self harm).’
This is abusive manipulation of women.
‘It will be all your fault if something bad happens to me because you won’t let me win unfairly.’
It’s amazing that the #CPU and so many other sports orgs have been manipulated in this manner.
It also illustrates what we have been arguing all along:
👉🏼That women’s sports is being used as a kind of “social therapy” for mentally ill men.
This paragraph ends with a hint at a claim of heroism.
‘I will resist self-harm for the sake of my child!’ (Whom this man has fathered, presumably.)
2. This man feels so entitled that he thinks that all he has to do is interact with the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) men and they will automatically fix everything for him in order to let him continue to defeat female Powerlifters.
The IPF is expected to do something just because he has spoken with them.
It was inevitable that this #Alberta lawyer would limit who could see her revealing thread.
So, I took screen shots to keep things on record.
This is an invaluable glimpse into the mindset of those working within the penal system in #Canada 🇨🇦.
In this series of 10 tweets, we see… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Tweet #1 : Instant anger over citizens simply expressing their concerns in a public space.
Tweet #2 - Admitting that few in #Canada really care much about incarcerated women.
Amy is right!
But why, then, would she proceed to excoriate a few folks on a Calgary #yyc overpass who actually *do* care?
Why would she become so angry when encountering such a rare thing?… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Having recently sat down to think & note all types of sports (team vs indiv, contact vs non-contact,etc) that could handle a “third (tr*ns) category,” I am concerned about the impending chaos in #sport.
Even “open” is tricky.
It really seems best to stick w/ binary MALE & FEMALE.
If someone identifies in a particular way to the point where they interfere with their own body - hormones & surgeries - that’s not on #sports. That’s a choice made by an individual athlete no different than choosing to retire. In a truly “inclusive” society a feminine male…
…should not have to blink at remaining in the MALE #sports category irrespective of conceptual identity or ideology. And we know that most female-born athletes who identify as men or NB stay in the female category already (and would do so even IF the was a third category!). So…
Part of this #UNSPORTING situation is the need to ask.
This is the inevitable endpoint, right?
Bullying & gaslighting of female athletes, all for the sake of #sports organizations TRYING to be “inclusive” of (largely) privileged white males representing ~0.15% of the population.
Since I am both a former athlete, #sports program designer, and personal coach who also serves as president of a provincial sports organization (governance), my perspective of “big picture” informs me that retaking lost ground requires a coordinated effort.
One-off efforts …
…will make headlines but deep within #sport random boycotts or tweeting something will never be enough. Nothing wrong with these initial measures, but something much more comprehensive is going to be required, involving:
Athletes
Coaches
Families
Sponsors
Bureaucrats
Politicians
