#EastPakistan's history is infused with partisan commentaries & fabricated facts/stats from hostile elements to suit their political objective, wherein, well-researched, credible stats depict a picture contrary to such claims.
Some credible facts to debunk ur assault on history👇
1. Richard Sisson & Leo Rose in the book 'War and Secession: Pakistan, India, and the Creation of Bangladesh', highlighted
discrepancy in figures quoted pertaining to alleged killings by Pak Army from "300,000 to 500,000". The huge variation was only meant to malign #PakArmy. Image
2. M Abdul Mu'min Chowdhury, a Bengali nationalist who had participated in the separatist cause, left Bangladesh in 1973 for London. In the preface of his book, ‘Behind the Myth of Three Million’ (cont)
he shed light on how history was turned in favor of liberated Bangladesh & people including the one skeptic of the negative rhetoric were compelled to join the chorus of the masters in singing the saga of 3 million martyrs and 300,000 heroines. Image
3. Serajur Rahman - a journalist and broadcaster with BBC Bangla Service at the time, wrote an article for The Guardian in 2011 in which he highlighted Sheikh Mijibur Rahman's confused state of mind with respect to unrealistic figures, where he got confused btw Lakh and millions. ImageImage
4. After the fall of Dhaka, Sheikh Mujib formally instituted a 12-member inquiry committee to prove the validity of his claims. However, the draft report came with a casualty figure of 56,743, which included the mass killings of Biharis by Mukti Bahinis. Image
5. Sarmila Bose, in her book ‘Dead Reckoning’ referred to Hamoodur Rehman Commission, noting that the claim of 3 million dead has been repeated in South Asian and Western academia without any verification.(cont) ImageImage
The authors who have added this figure in their books have not provided a single reference. How can one trust or believe in such superficially exaggerated figures?
6. The gory accounts of crimes committed Mukti Bahini remains underreported. Mukti Bahini had killed 100,000 Biharis (according to the ‘Chronology for Biharis in Bangladesh’) to 150,000 Biharis ('Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace and Conflict').
7. Lt Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora, Commander in Chief of Eastern Command of Indian army during the 1971 war rejected the three million figure. He noted that Mujib's figure was absolutely impossible because Pakistan army had simultaneously fought within the country and at the borders.
8. Dr. Junaid Ahmad, author of the book “Creation of Bangladesh: Myths Exploded, has brilliantly debunked the claims of exaggerated figures. Acc to him, if 3M Bengalis were killed over a period of time, from the start of the Op Searchlight, March 26th till on Dec 16 1971) (cont)
These make 262 days. 3 million divided by 262 gives a figure of 11,480, which means that Pak Army had to get hold of 11,500 plus Bengalis - bring them together, kill them, bury them, and do this again and keep doing it day after day for 262 days. (cont)
Pak Army had 34,000 combatant soldiers, who were deployed on the borders, about 1500 Km long, facing 15 divisions of Indian army.
These 34,000 soldiers were only three divisions. This implies that three divisions of the Pakistan Army had to face 15 divisions of Indian army outside on the borders plus 150,000 plus Mukti Bahini inside, including 50,000 Indian soldiers.
Even a logical person by these calculations can easily conclude that killing these many people and raping 200,000 women is impossible. It is physically and arithmetically impossible. Kindly use logic before proposing such fabricated figures and lies.

After President Yahya Khan had postponed the national assembly session scheduled to be held on March 3, 1971, under the pressure of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, it had disastrous consequences.
[1]
Between March 2 and March 26 (the day on which military action was initiated by President Yahya Khan) in East Pakistan, there was killing, burning, looting, ambushing, brickbatting and molestation of non Bengalis by the militants of Awami League.

Chinese leader #XiJinping & Russian President #VladimirPutin have made a sweeping affirmation of their alignment across a host of issues – and shared mistrust of the United States – in a lengthy statement following talks between the two leaders in Moscow this week.

Xi’s three-day visit to the Russian capital, which concluded Wednesday, was an opportunity for the two self-described “friends” to showcase their close personal rapport amid the pomp of a state visit – and lay out how they could advance a world order.
Key Takeways of the Meeting btw 2 leaders
1. No meaningful path forward on Ukraine: The meetings yielded no breakthrough on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
2. New world order: In their joint statement, the two authoritarian leaders called for promoting a multipolar world.

Thread: Corporate Agricultural Farming – Need of Hour

#Pakistan continues to face serious concerns about food insecurity despite being an agri-based society.
Even Pakistan's national security policy has emphasized food security as an imp aspect of non-traditional security.
[1]
Ample availability of water, a suitable climate, arable land, employment of innovative technologies, and availability of power supplies are crucial elements of food security.
[2]
Water insufficiency, urbanization, lack of investment, and rising production costs pose a challenge to national food security. Studies have shown that Pak could experience water scarcity by 2025 & become the most water-stressed country in South Asia by 2040.

Robust construction activity in the #Himalayan region by #India including building infrastructure across the #Himalayan region can significantly increase hazards and risks of natural disasters.
#ClimateChange #ClimateEmergency
[1]
Construction of dams, airstrips, highways, railway tracks, and buildings, and drilling of tunnels, including military activity, in this hazard-prone area, can be taken as a result of #India's geopolitical competition and rivalry.
[2]
With that, global warming is further destabilizing the ecologically fragile #Himalayan region as rising temperatures continue to melt glaciers and permafrost (permanently frozen land), having a disastrous impact on the region at large.

@USCIRF released a new report on 14 March 2023 concerning #India’s State-Level Anti-Conversion Laws. The report has examined common features of India’s 12 state-level anti-conversion laws, explaining how those features are inconsistent with international human rights law.
[1] Image
The key takeways of the report are:

🔸️Features of the mentioned laws include prohibitions on conversions, notifying the government of one’s intent to convert, and burden-shifting provisions that presume an individual accused of violating an anti-conversion law is guilty.
[2]
🔸️Each of these features violates rights protected by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
