Day 398 of #Russia's full war on #Ukraine + this is the start of the daily thread for Tuesday.

Already today another drone attack by the aggressor - details coming up, plus all the rest of the news as it unfolds throughout the day.

Yesterday's 🧵is here:
1/2

So first let's get to the drone attack. #Ukraine has shot down 13 UAVs which mostly attacked #Kyiv.

#Russia released 12 of the Iran kamikaze Shahids and one reconnaissance drone.

There were explosions in the capital but there are no injuries.
2/2

In #Kyiv a three-storey building was hit during #Russia's attack. It's possible it was struck by downed drones; fires started in two places.

This is in the Svyatoshyn district of #Ukraine's capital.
#StandWithUkraine
#Olympics chief Thomas Bach may be forced to abandon his attempts to allow athletes from #Russia and #Belarus to compete at @Paris2024

The IOC meet today to discuss the subject again days after Athletics upheld the ban on athletes from the two nations.

"Thank you very much #UnitedKingdom from #Ukraine."

Yesterday we were not allowed to reveal the location of the Challenger-2 tanks. But the Ukrainian Defence Minister has already taken them for "a spin!"

#StandWithUkraine

During the night #Dnipropetrovsk region was also hit by #Russia's drones.

A huge fire erupted (covering 4,000 sq m) when one hit "a private enterprise"
#Ukraine's air defence says two other UAVs were brought down and there were no casualties.

#StopRussia
A lot of artillery systems continue to be destroyed by #Ukraine, but numbers elsewhere seem on a slight downward trend.

570 more of #Russia's invaders killed in the last 24 hours.
All data are estimated by Ukraine
#Avddivka and #Vuhledar are the focus of the UK Intel update for Tuesday:

#StandWithUkraine #StopRussia
A convoy of old BRDM-2MS reconnaissance trucks and armored vehicles has been spotted heading from the 103rd Armored Tank Repair Plant in #Buryatia, south east #Russia.

The barrel is being scraped.
Thanks to my long time Twitter mate @AngryFil who put aside his anger, and seeing England beat Ukraine in the footy, to buy me a coffee today via the Ko-Fi link in my profile.

Dyakuyu Seryozha! Slava Ukraini!
Personal news and why there've been a few delays in updates to the thread!
Representing myself in court this morning.

I do hope the great and good (and not so good?) of the IOC are shown stories like this when they decide if #Russia's Olympians, fresh from fighting in the illegal war, killing Ukrainians, should be allowed at the @Paris2024 games.

Hero. RIP 🇺🇦
Quick update on yesterday's car bomb attack in #Mariupol'

It's confirmed by occupiers that the victim is the so-called "Head of Police" for the city.
Mykhailo Moskvin is reported to be seriously ill in a local hospital.
More things blowing up around #Melitopol.

There's no electricity in the #Terpinnivska district 15km north of Melitopol after a substation known as "Discoteka" exploded.

Locals now also report sounds of explosions further south around Molochnyi Liman.
#Counterattack coming?
In #Russia, a man walking his dog found wreckage of a #Ukraine drone.

The UAV was discovered 100m from railway lines in the town of Novaya Moskva (New Moscow).

The wingspan of the drone is 2m and it had the words "#SlavaUkraini" on the wings.
IOC President Thomas Bach, often seen shaking Putin's hand, says #Russia and #Belarus athletes CAN compete in the Olympics.

Spineless. Many Russian Olympians are in the army, killing Ukrainians.

The word "Kompromat" is in my head for some reason.
A single father in #Russia, who was arrested and saw his daughter snatched from him and put in care for drawing an anti-war picture at school, has fled house arrest.

Aleksei Moskalev was today sentenced to 2 years in prison in absentia. His daughter remains in care.
#StopRussia
More photos from #Avdiivka which continues to suffer huge shelling and ongoing bombardment.
#Ukraine is hanging on to control of the town as #Russia's forces continue to gather.

#SaveUkraine
#France has officially recognised the #Holodomor as genocide.

Around 5 million Ukrainians died in #Moscow's forced starvation policy. The 2019 film "Mr Jones" is a good starter if you want to know more and be entertained at the same time.

#Russia claims two people were killed when shells hit occupied #Donetsk early today.

#DonetskIsUkraine
Unconfirmed reports that a Russian fighter jet has crashed in #Zaporizhzhia region.

It's not known if #Ukraine's air defence shot down what seem to be a Su-35, according to locals near #Tokmak where the place is said to have fallen.

#SlavaUkraini #StopRussia
#Ukraine's Armed Forces have set the record straight after @TheStudyofWar claimed #Russia had made some advances in #Bakhmut.

Spokesman Serhiy Cherevaty said there are often advances, then retreats, describing the situation as "dynamic", adding 86 Russians were killed today.
Still on #Bakhmut (and #Avdiivka), the arrival of Leopard-2 tanks from Germany, Sweden and Portugal, plus the Challenger-2s from UK, could help tip the balance in #Ukraine's favour.

But the terrain is still tough, muddy, with drier weather another week away.
#StandWithUkraine
In the Russian Republic of #Chechnya there's been an armed attack on a police station.

There are gruesome photos of some of the dead, which I am not posting. It's not exactly clear what's happened, but the city of Gudermes has been shut off with extra military brought in.

Wednesday. Day 1302 of the illegal war started by Russia.

For all the fact-checked news about Ukraine, analysis not sugar-coated, and honest appraisals of the situation, trust an expert who isn't here for clicks (if I was I'd post lies & gory videos).

Thanks for being #TeamTim
Yesterday an astonishing report from Yale showing Russia forcing kidnapped kids to work in drone factories, how Croatia may have embarrassed the Putin/ Hungary/Slovakia axis.

Those and many more stories in Tuesday's thread, click here to review:

2-3 weeks ago, Russia started copying Ukraine's attacks on railway infrastructure and is having success.

At night, Ukrzaliznytsia substations were hit, causing power losses firing the rail network.

Over 20 passenger trains were on affected routes, but there are no casualties. Image

Day 1301 of Ukraine fighting for its survival. The right to be free, speak their own language, worship in their own churches, to learn their own history.

A history of long suppression by Russia.
As war crimes grow daily, the words "never again" don't seem to apply.
Here's the🧵
Yesterday began, and ended, with Russia attacking Zaporizhzhia, injuring civilians.

Also, the head of the IAEA disgraced himself in Russia's arms, changes of 🇺🇦army leadership, and how a Russian guy was a Putin opponent, until 3 mins after being elected.

First though a breaking news after a number of morning attacks by Russia, particularly in Kyiv region.

Day 1300 of Putin's war.
Another 100 days of fighting completed.
We are no nearer peace than we were 100 days ago.

Almost 200 days ago Trump demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.
Not surprising as he started it, it's always Putin stopping peace.

Here's Monday's daily🧵
If you were busy over the weekend, click the link to see all Sunday's stories.

It was a day when Ukraine had to quickly repair a main railway line after a massive explosion, but they also managed to make multiple hits on Russia's rail and oil industries

The overnight bombardment from Russia remained lower than usual, although 84 drones and 3 S-300 missiles caused a fair bit of damage on 'soft' targets

With 59 UAVs stopped, that's a 70% success rate.
None of the missiles was intercepted either

The 28 hits occurred in 13 places Image

Day 1299 - the daily thread starts here, covering all things to do with the illegal invasion of Ukraine by its demonic neighbour.

Plenty to catch up on due to the late start today.
So no time to waste, let's go...
Apologies for the much later start than intended, due to a few technical issues, as well as Dad's Taxi being booked for a rescue mission😂

Before we look at today's events, here's the link back to Saturday's thread:

At the end of yday's thread, I wrote about what was a probable Russian strike on Kyiv's railway.

Ukraine's Gen Staff doesn't say it was an attack but admits a "detonation of ammunition on a train carrying military cargo"

Accidents happen, but either way it's a clear blow.

Hello on Day 1298 of Russia's full invasion of its sovereign neighbour. So, only 1295 days late in fulfilling the boast of taking Kyiv in 3 days. #EATP for Putin.

I've compiled a🧵every single day without fail.
You can help my work with a boost, comment, re-post or a coffee🙏
Friday saw more important visitors arrive in Kyiv (and another familiar place is in Ukraine today).

There was more solidarity and practical support, while Russia suffered more oil woes.

If you missed anything, click and scroll here:

I'll start in Odesa, because that's where the familiar face has turned up.

He was planning to return to Ukraine a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't make it, but now Boris is back.
Loved by nearly all Ukrainians, his early arrival (with Lord Ashcroft) meant he avoids the crowds. Image

Hello once again on Friday 12 September 2025.

Day 1297 of Russia's imperialist war, but the senior bully keeps being given a bloody nose by the junior school kid next door. How embarrassing for the "world's second greatest army" and more 'punches' thrown by Ukraine overnight..
There was so much in yesterday's thread.

Russia hitting churches, Ukraine striking a boat.
The US helping Belarus, which helps🇷🇺 & Trump questioning if the drone attack on Poland was a mistake.
Thursday ended with a Ukraine drone surge into Russia:
It was busy at Kyiv's main railway station this morning with two VIP arrivals making unannounced visits.

Prince Harry accepted a request to return to Ukraine saying "we have to keep (the war) at the forefront of people's minds."

Poland's FM @sikorskiradek hopped off soon after Image
