English water ways are an international disgrace. So-called plans for improvement are announced by Tory governments, but they tend to remain plans, not actions. The pollution continues unabated.

Then at the next election, after yet another failure, the Tories promise to do better. And the whole disgraceful, #PostTruthSociety vicious circle of #PublicRelations , half truths & lies is repeated again, while the #Finacialization of the water industry goes on, unabated.

There’s money to be made by the water companies pouring their sewage into our rivers and onto our beaches. So, being greedy, they do it to add to their Directors’s bonuses & shareholders’ dividends.

Water supply & dirty water-disposal are natural pipe-worked monopolies, marked out by geography, climate, & population. They *should* be managed & controlled in the public interest not for private profit.

In England, it has become obvious that the financiers, the so-called “City”, have have taken control. History shows that they have delivered us excrement, toilet paper, used sanitary products, open condoms in the places where we like to bathe & play with our children.

Now, we the people have to tell our children and grandchildren why we should not go down to play on the beach or in the river, because of what we might find.

Tell them, the politicians standing fir public office, why we cannot safely go down to the water: because of greed & profit-making by the water industry, plus weak enforcement by the regulator @Ofwat , regulatory capture to weaken the law, & underhand but legal dealings.

Don’t fall in! Don’t jump off the bridge! Don’t paddle on that pool! Don’t paddle at all. The water industry must be reformed to achieve clean water everywhere apart from the WC & sewage works, and importantly #NetZero within the next 10 years.
