TL:DR
To find out who to vote for to remove, or block, Tories from your council on May 4th:
1. Visit StopTheTories.Vote
2. Put in your postcode
3. Tell a friend, download a poster, signup for updates
4. Show up and vote tactically!

This is BIG!

The existing websites only give advice for general elections.

Your council has wards with councillors (often 2 or 3 per ward).
Much like our gov has constituencies with MPs.
You make votes in your ward, and you’ll usually make multiple votes in that ward.
You could be voting for several candidates!

Ideally our system of elections would be fairer, counting all votes equally.
Which is why we're supporters of Proportional Representation, which would almost remove the need for voting tactically.
And make government more representative.

How are we working it out?
In every ward we've worked out which opposition party's candidate has the best chance of winning by looking at previous election votes in those wards.

We average the votes for each party across all their candidates in the ward, and use this to work out which ones came 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
We then recommend those parties to get behind.

If the party we recommend isn't standing enough candidates in a ward, then we recommend the next party for the next seat.
And continue to do that until we run out of candidates in a ward.
This can mean that we recommend candidates from multiple parties in a ward 🫶
