Weekends used to consist of watching episodes of Mahabharata , Ramayana,Mogli ,He Man and the likes.
We danced clumsily to the 90's Indi Pop songs & thought WWF was real.
We created so many memories with hardly any photos thanks to the 32 film roll. 😄
3/10
Small things like a top , marbles , a rubber ball , or even a piece of cake with some frosting ( there was no concept of black forest cake ) used to make us insanely happy.
We valued each & every possession of ours.
And somehow never craved for more ...
We were content.
4/10
We used to exchange books or go down to the raddiwalla to buy Chandamama , Gokulam & Amar Chitra Katha books - outdated or not.
Taking a cycle on rent for an hour costed ₹5 2-3 of us used to take turns riding that too !
Money saved was spent on unhygienic pepsi cola !😬
5/10
We used to excitedly meet others - friends or family and talk non stop about all that had transpired.
The conversations used to be engaging & heartfelt.
No one knew about others' life as there were no updates on "hourly" basis on Insta / Watsapp Status.
Time used to fly!
6/10
No one cared about how we looked , whether we were fashionable or owning something trending and what nots.
All we cared was " What next activity could we do as a group ?"
Moving on from one play event to another until we were exhausted to even move.....
7/10
We used to write letters to folks who stayed away.
But the 25 paise Inland letter had only so much space !
It was a real task trying to fit all the details onto that small letter.
Hence often a trial letter was written on raddi paper before writing the actual letter !
8/10
Hurriedly putting the cassette into the player would result in us sitting with a pencil to untangle the mess caused and pray sincerely that the cassette wasn't ruined !
We have spent countless hours rewinding the cassette to write down the lyrics to memorize a song.
9/10
There was no junk available.
Simple seasonal home cooked meals were served with love and that was enough for us with the occasional ice cream or two...
All children used to gather around the grandmother who would feed one hand of food to us whilst narrating an anecdote.
10/10
We were mindful & enjoyed everything by being in the present , by being curious, by being thankful and were extremely content despite having less possessions.
*THE END*
What made your childhood memorable ???

A brilliant no frills book that offers a framework for thinking about how to improve your decision making , along with a set of tools that help execute it.
A few of my takeaways from this gem !
2/18
There are only 2 things that determine HOW your life turns out : LUCK & QUALITY OF DECISION MAKING.
We have some control over only one of those two things.
When you make better quality decisions, you increase the chances of good things happening to you.
3/18
Our objective is to choose an option that gains most ground in achieving our goals.
Sometimes which entails the least risk.
Thereby we examine the quality of the beliefs informing the decision, the available options & try to envisage the future based on our choices.
The subconscious mind goes beyond learning new skills. It basically stores our beliefs & determines and monitors when & what information must be sent to the conscious mind.
Ever observed how a child is not afraid of anything including 🔥 initially?🤔
