He knew what his fate was so he shouldn’t have been surprised. Kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school.
Midoriya Izuku was always there. Whether they got along. Whether they didn’t. They were still always together. So of course Izuku would show up when it was time for Katsuki to move into the college and surprise him by saying he got into the same university.
Katsuki wasn’t upset because he didn’t want him around. He was upset because he did. Badly. Ever since third of year of high school his alpha had been acting up around the omega. He wanted him as his. He wanted to claim him. He wanted to love him.
But every time he tried to move forward in that direction, it was like his brain was made of air, his mouth couldn’t move, and his body was being pulled by puppet strings. It pissed him off! Usually Katsuki was great at everything he put his mind to.
But when it came to courting Midoriya Izuku, it was like he was a toddler learning to walk all over again. And college was a whole new ball game. Most omegas didn’t go to university. But of course Izuku set his mind to it. And of course he got in!
Most omegas his age were looking for alphas. They were settling down, getting married, starting families. Studying would get in the way of that, but Izuku made it clear he wanted it all. Katsuki knew he would get in, but the omega was coy with him about whether he did.
It made Katsuki suspect he didn’t. Afterall, an Omega getting into UA university was so rare that they didn’t even have a separate omega dorm. Instead, omegas were given their own nesting suite that was usually reserved for alphas with families that attended the university.
He decided it was a good thing Izuku didn’t get in because he would become a massive distraction to his studies. Katsuki could always try and fail at courting the omega when he returned home for the holidays or weekends if he was really desperate to see him.
But then he showed up as Katsuki was unpacking and acted like it was the most natural thing in the world to help him unpack. What a damn surprise.
“It’s for you!” Izuku handed him a small gold All Might statue in a glass case.
All Might was a super hero show they used to love together as kids.
“Wouldn’t you rather have this in the nerd castle you’re probably building?” Katsuki scoffed.
“Come on, I picked it out so it’s tasteful like I imagined the rest of your decor probably is!” Izuku beamed.
Katsuki smirked then put it on his desk and sighed. Then his alpha took over and Katsuki wanted to scream.
Good omega
Courting gift
Mine
Mine
Mine
“SHUT UP!” Katsuki screamed.
“Ah! Sorry?” Izuku covered his mouth.
“No! Not you!” Katsuki blushed furiously.
“Uh… should I get going?” Izuku stepped away shyly.
Katsuki should return the favor. He should go with him and help him unpack. But being alone in a nesting dorm with Izuku…
Wait, he was alone with him right now too…
“Yeah. Scram.”
NO!!!
“Okay Um… I’ll see you around then.” Izuku shyly waved.
“Wait!” Katsuki composed himself. “Let me walk you to your dorm at least…”
“I’d love that!” Izuku blushed. “It’s not too far from here!”
The walk there was awkward. Katsuki wanted to say something. Anything.
But Izuku wasn’t being fair. He grew up too beautiful. The spring air looked too good blowing through his hair. His happy scent was… wait..
“Deku, where the fuck are your scent patches?!” Katsuki fumed.
“Huh? Did I forget them again?” Izuku giggled.
“You idiot!”
Katsuki fumed. He didn’t notice because he was so used to the omegas scent that it felt natural to be around. It just smelled like home to him. But at this university crawling with alphas? He needed to be more careful!
“You better have some packed with you!” He scolded him.
“Of course I do! They’re in my apartment somewhere!” Izuku smiled nervously.
“So you can remember to bring ‘em but not wear ‘em?!” Katsuki rolled his eyes.
“Well I have Kacchan walking me home so I’m fine!” Izuku said before running ahead of him.
“Hey! Wait up!”
Despite clumsily getting there, Katsuki managed to help Izuku unpack his nerd emporium.
“Why didn’t you tell me ahead of time, huh?!” Katsuki barked when they were done. “Now I look like the asshole not getting you anything!”
“I-I never expected you to get me anything!”
Izuku put his hands up. “I thought it would be fun to keep it a surprise so I did!”
“Well you didn’t surprise me!” Katsuki turned his nose.
“Well you looked pretty surprised!” Izuku pointed out.
“How’d you even find my dorm anyway?!”
“Auntie.”
“Of course! That damn hag!”
Katsuki cursed, making Izuku laugh.
“Thanks for helping me unpack! Do you want tea?” Izuku offered.
“Might as well.” The alpha grumbled.
Izuku didn’t put his scent patches on and the entire place smelled like him as he hummed while boiling the water on the kettle.
Katsuki could get used to this. An adult life with Izuku. Sitting on the kitchen table and listening as the omega did domestic things for him. But damnit he had no idea how to ask for such a thing. Courting should be easy. So why did Katsuki freeze up every time?
“Here you go!” Izuku served Katsuki his tea. “Can you believe we’re in college already? It feels like just yesterday, we were being scolded by our kindergarten teacher for hopping the fence!”
“Yeah. Crazy.” Katsuki cleared his throat. How did Izuku think of him?
His admiration was clear since they were toddlers. But what about love? Attraction? All that stupid stuff? He looked comfortable being alone with him in his new dorm. Was that comfort a good thing or a bad thing? Katsuki was over thinking just like he would.
“I hope we at least have one class together. That way you can’t avoid me even if you wanted to!” Izuku said like a joke but it angered Katsuki.
“What makes you think I would want to, huh?!” He barked.
“Well you’ll probably fit in a lot easier than me. Make new friends and-”
“forget all about me! Maybe even find someone who-”
“Deku!” Katsuki slammed the table. “If we don’t have classes together, I know where you live! And I will visit at any moments notice!” He said like a threat.
“Okay!” Izuku beamed. “I’ll visit you too!”
“Maybe we can even study together and do groceries and-”
“Yeah yeah all that stuff!” Katsuki waved him off. “I’ll see ya around nerd!”
They ended up having almost all their classes together which meant Katsuki had to work extra hard to actually learn!
But it was nice seeing Izuku every day. They mostly kept to themselves but Katsuki made a few friends. Or mostly they couldn’t stop hanging around him. Kirishima Eijiro, Ashido Mina, and Kaminari Denki. Mina and Denki were betas but Kirishima was an alpha.
Which meant Katsuki didn’t really want him hanging around when Izuku was there. Deku made a few friends too. A beta girl named Uraraka and a couple of other alphas which grinded Katsuki’s gears but he had no right to say anything. If he didn’t have the balls to court Izuku,
then he deserved to lose him to someone else but luckily for him, Izuku was only interested in being friends with those guys and they seemed to respect it. Things were going smooth..ish.
The one thing Katsuki hated the most was every first year had to participate in a stupid mentor program with third years, including Izuku! They paired him with this obnoxious guy name Mirio Togata who just had to be perfect in every damn way.
Izuku looked at the older taller alpha with stars in his eyes. Katsuki hated when he looked at anyone else like that. He would babble frequently about Togata senpai this and Togata senpai that and Katsuki had to pretend he wasn’t dying inside whenever he brought him up.
But despite being cool in Izuku’s eyes, Katsuki very soon found out Mirio Togata was certified loser. Not his words but from the whispers of those around him. You would think a guy like that would be popular, but he was basically treated like a pariah.
He guessed not everyone grew up out of the middle school bully phase.
“Does he call his business Lemillion because he wants to make a million bucks? Or because a million omegas turned him down!”
“Virgin.”
“Loser.”
Katsuki almost felt bad for the guy.
“Hey man!” Eijiro snapped his fingers in front of his face. “You alright?!”
“I’m fine!” Katsuki bit them.
“Ah! Geez! I see what this about.” The other alpha glanced at Izuku hanging around Togata and his friends. “Why don’t you just ask him out already, man?”
“Shut up!” Katsuki barked.
“Come on. The whole campus already thinks you’re a mated pair! Might as well make it official!” Eijiro encouraged.
“The whole campus should be focusing on school!” Katsuki snapped.
“Alright well if you’re not going to do anything about him,”
“Why don’t you distract myself by joining me for this!” Eijiro handed him a flyer.
“The fuck is this shit?” Katsuki questioned at the bloody finger making a whisper motion to a pair of red lips.
“It’s a secret society at UA! Word on the street is if you get in,”
“you’re basically set for life!” Eijiro bragged. “They are only inviting a few people to be initiated this year but we’re allowed to bring one friend and I choose y-”
“Pass.” Katsuki said firmly.
“Oh come on!” Eijiro whined.
“Take one of the other idiots!” Katsuki exclaimed.
“It’s for alphas only.” Ei sighed.
“Well good luck with that!” Katsuki waved before walking toward Izuku who was finally alone.
“Kacchan! Did you see what they’re serving in the cafeteria today?”
“Broccoli?” Katsuki ruffled his hair.
“Guess again!”
“Why do I have to guess?”
Eijiro watched them and sighed in longing. He wished he had a love like that.
“Hey man!”
“Ah!” Ei turned to see Mirio Togata standing before him.
“Oh! Hey Togata-senpai!” Ei scratched the back of his head nervously. “What’s up?”
“I couldn’t help but uh… see what you have in your hand there?” The older guy pointed to the flyer.
“Oh… are you a part of it?” Kirishima wondered.
“Not yet I’m afraid. But it’s my last year and… I’d like a chance! I wasn’t always picked on, you know.”
He informed him. “It all started when I rejected the first invitation.”
“Really?” Eijiro paled as he looked Katsuki’s way.
“Don’t worry about your friend. He wasn’t directly approached. I was! But I guess back then I thought the whole secret society thing seemed weird!”
Mirio chuckled wistfully. “But I’m tired of all the whispers, you know? I try not to let it get to me. But even professors started looking at me differently after I rejected a direct invitation to join! I need the opportunities this year, so, let me be your guest!”
Eijiro saw the desperate look in his eye and couldn’t ignore him.
“Alright!” He gave him a thumbs up. “Join me!”

Katsuki was tired as he sat on Izuku’s couch while the omega mumbled a million miles a minute about his notes for their upcoming exam.
He spent most of his time at Izuku’s nesting apartment after class. He hardly even stepped in his own dorm. He began to drift off when a blanket was suddenly thrown on him.
“Ah shit… I should probably fuck off to my own place, huh?” Katsuki yawned.
“You know you’re always welcome to stay over here.” Izuku laughed him off. “Luckily the couch is comfy.”
“Too damn comfy if you ask me.” Katsuki plopped his head on the plush armrest.
“Let me get you your pillow!” Izuku walked to the closet and Katsuki couldn’t help but feel twisted all of a sudden at the word ‘your’. He had a designated pillow, blanket, hell, toothbrush but he still hadn’t had the guts to ask him to dinner.
“Deku… am I in the way?” Katsuki couldn’t help but ask.
“No! I don’t really use the couch when I study. I’m more of a floor person!” Izuku insisted as he brought him the pillow.
“I mean… you’re 18 now. Aren’t you supposed to find your own mate and stuff?”
Katsuki questioned. “My scent is everywhere here. Am I scaring people off?”
Izuku looked at him with a sad expression then wrinkled his nose and shook it off. “I’m here to study just like you are. The whole mate stuff can wait for later! Unless- uh… nevermind.”
“Unless what?”
“Well-” Izuku took a deep breath. “I guess…”
“You like someone?” Katsuki asked dejectedly.
“I do.” Izuku answered and Katsuki felt his heart shatter. “But I’m not sure if he feels the same and he’s confusing me!”
“How is he confusing you?”
“Well… he hangs around me all the time.. and is protective over me… and I always catch him staring but he hasn’t made any moves to court me and I’m too scared to say anything myself because I really like him and I have for a long time and-”
“I hope he understands that soon because it’s kind of like torture the way it is now but I can’t help it! I really want him to say or do something! Anything to show me he likes me too!” Izuku teared up.
“Yeah… I get that.” Katsuki pouted before looking down.
“Is it Kirishima?” He pieced together and Izuku looked at him almost angrily.
“He’s also a big idiot!” The omega threw the pillow at him and ran to his room.

The rest of the month was agonizing. Katsuki was driving himself crazy trying to figure out who Izuku liked.
He hung around three alphas other than him and his friends. Obviously Kirishima was out of the running. Todoroki Shoto, Iida Tenya and that Mirio Togata. It couldn’t be Todoroki because he already tried to court Izuku at the beginning of the semester and was shut down.
Iida was a strong contender since he was extremely strict on not dating in university. He might be sending Izuku mixed signals. But he was sure he was just hoping. It was obviously that Togata bastard!
Luckily, he seemed to be spending more time with Kirishima than Izuku.
Katsuki paused as he found Izuku waiting outside of the library.
“Stalking me?” The alpha raised his brow.
“No.” Izuku shook his head. “I’m waiting for Togata senpai. I haven’t checked in with him in awhile and he said we could touch base after his meeting!”
“Oh. Don’t tell me he’s in that secret bullshit thing too. No wonder people suddenly like him.” Katsuki sighed.
“Secret bullshit?” Izuku blinked.
“Yeah. UA apparently has some alpha only society that gets you perks or whatever.” Katsuki shrugged.
“Are you in it?”
Izuku questioned.
“Of course not!” Katsuki leaned his head back.
“Amazing… a secret society. I wonder what goes on in there!” Izuku pondered.
“Probably just a bunch of alphas stroking each others ego.” Katsuki shrugged. “Seems lame to me.”
“Oh hey Midoriya!” Mirio waved as he walked down the steps. “Thanks for meeting me here and sorry it took so long! I got caught up in some stuff!”
Katsuki could tell Izuku was dying to ask about the society but he kept it to himself.
“I’ll catch you later, Kacchan!”
“Hey Bakugo! Thanks for waiting..” Kirishima approached him uneasily.
“Why do you look like your mom just died?” Katsuki pointed out, making Eijiro sigh.
“I dropped out of the society today. I don’t think I’ll be able to meet their qualifications.” He shrugged.
“Which are?” Katsuki raised his brow.
“A secret, dude!” Ei reminded him.
“Nevermind, I don’t care.” Katsuki shrugged.
“That’s the spirit! Now let’s get some food!”

Izuku sat in his nesting apartment alone and was tempted to call Kacchan over but stopped himself.
“He doesn’t want you, Izuku! You’re only hurting yourself!” He slapped his face over and over. He couldn’t help but hope he was wrong. That Kacchan loved him and was just waiting till graduation or something. But that’s what he hoped for in high school, and nothing…
He shouldn’t distance himself from the alpha. It wasn’t Katsuki’s fault that Izuku liked him. But he wondered if having him over all the time acting like they were an old married couple was really the best idea. He was interrupted by a knock on his door.
“Hello?” Izuku asked. He had to be more mindful of opening the door right away without his scent patches on, something Kacchan drilled into his head. It’s not that Izuku wasn’t careful around other alphas. But, around Kacchan he couldn’t help being a little reckless.
“It’s me.” Katsuki announced, making Izuku squirm.
“Just a second! I’m undressed!” He lied so he could have time to compose himself.
“Deku, we’ve bathed together since we were four!” Katsuki pointed out.
“I said just a second!” Izuku hated the familiarity at this point.
He wanted Kacchan to get a little flustered. He wanted him to feel like being with him was special! He didn’t want it to feel like just another day hanging out with his childhood friend! Izuku thought about it and ran into his room, removing all his clothes except his boxers.
He grabbed a satin purple robe that the previous tenant left behind and tied it as loose as he could before answering the door, causing Katsuki’s jaw to drop.
“Sorry… you caught me right as I was about to take a bath.” The omega blushed.
Katsuki didn’t say anything as he just stared with his mouth open. Izuku began to think it was an awful idea as neither moved or said a word for an agonizing 5 minutes.
“C-come back later!” Izuku slammed the door and locked it.
Katsuki cursed himself and was so damn-
glad he came over to bring Izuku takeout because the bag of food was a great cover for the hard on Katsuki couldn’t force down. He looked around and knocked on the door again.
“I brought you food! I’m leaving it here for when your bath is done! See ya!”

“STOP LAUGHING!” Katsuki fumed as Eijiro and Denki were crying at his story.
“Dude…you told him… it was fine! What did you expect?!” Denki said as he tried to catch his breath.
“NOT THAT! I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE NERD OWNED THINGS LIKE THAT!” Katsuki was a mess.
“And you just stood there?! Until he slammed the door in your face?!” Kaminari rolled on the floor.
“SHUT UP! WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE, HUH?!” Katsuki lamented.
“He was obviously daring you to jump him, dude!” Eijiro pointed out.
“That is not what he wanted!” Katsuki scoffed.
“Oh man, you want us to ask him out for you?! Watching this is kinda pathetic.” Kaminari questioned.
“Of course not! What kinda alpha would I be if I let my friends court him in my place!” Katsuki growled.
“A taken one, probably.” Eijiro shrugged.
“You’re crazy for thinking he’d go for me.” Katsuki plopped on the bed. “I already know it’s pointless…”
Izuku sobbed in his robe on the floor as he felt embarrassed by his actions. Why did he do that?! Now Kacchan might think he was a pervert! Did he just ruin everything?
He wished he could forget he ever had a crush on him! Then they could be normal around each other like Kacchan wanted! It was all pointless, anyway…

Mirio sat in the center of the meeting place as the head of the secret society, Shigaraki Tomura smiled wickedly at him.
They had all just gone done watching that last new member except Togatas live video of him taking an omegas virginity. The final requirement to join.
“Alright… Togata Mirio.” Tomura addressed him. “We’re all looking forward to your video.”
“I bet he can’t even find an omega who would do it with him.” Todoroki Touya snickered.
“I can!” Togata argued, while everyone around him laughed. “I-in fact! I already did!”
“Oh? In your dreams?” Utsumishi Camie questioned.
“No! Someone who goes to school with us!”
“That new first year? No way. He’s taken, isn’t he?” Touya lamented. “With that Bakugo kid. We need a Virgin, remember?”
“He is one! They’re not together and never were!” Togata assured them. “Midoriya has a big crush on me, I can feel it! And I’ll show you all soon!”
Togata hated what he had to do. Thought he was sure the only hope he had at having his future restored was convincing Midoriya to sleep with him. He didn’t have to know he was being filmed. And he was cute. Who knows? Maybe it could even turn into something more.
But at the moment, he had goal. He heard he had to sell his soul to get into these things. He just hoped he didn’t take Midoriya to hell with him. It would be one time. He wouldn’t have to know…
Mirio took a deep breath. He had until the end of the week.

It’s absolutely crazy to me how much of the MHA fan base completely glosses over/ignores/misses the point of the control your heart plotline when Horikoshi has written explicitly in the text that it is and always has been about Deku’s feelings for Bakugo.
What about this canon plotline scares people to touch so much? The only ones who acknowledge it are shippers and it doesn’t necessarily have to be looked at in a romantic setting? But perhaps it is so those who acknowledge it can’t help but ship them?
Like how do you still deny Blackwhip activated because Monoma insulted Bakugo? Or think ShigAFO is a liar even though he said what readers still don’t acknowledge: Izuku lost his shit in the first war because of Bakugo, Bakugo is Izuku’s closest person,
I need you all to understand that actions do not equal characterization. We have never seen Izuku hold a knife or sneeze or clip his nails either. That does not mean he never did and never will. By the way, we have seen him giggle.
I’ve seen a lot of writers criticized for “mischaracterization” when it’s literally just the plot or the genre they are writing in. As an actor, I always hated when other actors would say “my character wouldn’t do that.” Because people are capable of anything+
and the characterization lies in the REASON they would do that thing. For example:
Villain Izuku is NOT a mischaracterization. He can still ramble a million miles a minute, have notebooks full of his evil plans, wear dorky shirts that say ‘evil shirt’ and believe in his heart+
“Bakugo-San, your career has been soaring non-stop since you went solo! The world wants to know what’s next for you?” A reporter asked the number one idol in all of Japan.
“A fucking nap.” Katsuki groaned, making the reporter fret.
Izuku laughed from his couch as his eyes were glued to his every word.
“Really, Izuku.” His mom turned off the tv. “There’s so many idols out there, why are you obsessed with that one?!”
“He’s great, mom!” Izuku beamed. “I know his language isn’t the best,”
“But when I watch him dance, I feel like I can do anything!” The newly presented omega stood up and did a twirl before tripping and falling.
“Maybe that’s not a good thing.” Midoriya Inko sighed before helping son up.
“That had nothing to do with my presentation!” Izuku pouted.
Probably because the spin offs Hori is actually involved in and talks highly of have zero Iz///Ocha content. And the one from TUM is heavily one sided. And the light novels which Hori praises the most have a whole valentines chapter which is again, one sided w/ bkdk cuteness.
For TUM, he sketched and planned the whole romantic chapter with Ojiro and Hagakure. And nothing at all for Iz//Ocha. It in fact makes you wonder why the side content that he is actually involved in has 0 thought into the supposed main pairing.
Oh and also the valentines chapter again hints that Bakugo is gay. Followed by a full blown BakuDeku sick fic, what on earth are we supposed to take from that?
Alpha Todoroki Shoto had finally gotten his hero license. He had been waiting for this moment since that fateful day his first year at UA. It was finally time for him to take on the dreadful villain, and his former friend, the Dragon Dynamight.
(Sorry, will finish my other WIP soon but I just can't get this out of my head!!!!)
One of the reasons they called him the dragon was because he was a completely feral alpha. Barbaric, violent, and explosive. No hero could beat him. And several tried. He slayed so many and permanently maimed Shoto's father, the number one hero, Endeavor.
