OK, now we get onto what I wanted to do for y'all this late evening.
Namely, hoodoos! If you do, hoodoo.

a.k.a. tent rock, fairy chimney or earth pyramid. All these photos are mine or with my camera by someone else, 2013, remote area of #Tanzania.

No hoodoo, but in which you see me, following the local guide, to go see hoodoos. Remote area of #Tanzania, 2013. I was the only foreigner there. A couple of Tanzanian tourists too, but srsly infrequented.

This is a very well-camouflaged praying-mantis I found along the way. The area is semi-arid to quite arid, so its coloration is very well-done.

In which I somberly contemplate:
1/ hoodoos
2/ my neurosis about depths
3/ my mortality.

Hoodoos! This is a seasonal riverbed; which is how the sand- and rock-pillars, the hoodoos, got carved away. Imagine the force of the seasonal river.

By the way, you can JUST see the tiny figure of someone down on the riverbed, so you get some idea of the scale of these massive things.
