The majority of anti-2A responses are those calling for me to be murdered (ironically with a gun), calling me various slang for female genitalia, a b*tch, etc. It must hurt to carry that much hate after awhile.
I’m not shocked, it’s what I’ve come to expect from the very far left anti-2A. I have friends on the left who can hold civil conversations on issues without devolving to shallow nastiness. Media hasn’t helped this issue. At. All.
I’ve watched as media exploits grief and ignores the real story: Decades of gov’t failure. Political class ignoring the mental health crisis. A sheriff who focused on electioneering rather than following up on repeated reports of danger.
Anyone familiar with my work knows I have always criticized media. I blasted their bias during the tea party. Ex: When they and politicos maligned and falsely blamed people like Trent Humphries after Tucson. At an ABC townhall an audience member threatened to kill him.
It’s why I went to edit Big Journalism when Andrew was still alive. He knew it then: There was little to no accountability for legacy media. It’s worsened since.
My opinion of legacy media has, too, worsened. Their smear of middle America, good enough to vote for Clintons but sudden bigots when they went to Trump. The way they impugn the character of law-abiding gun owners. Bashing of conservative women. Attacking minority conservatives.
So absolutely. That’s where my new program, starting later this month, is focusing. Who watches the watchdogs for the people?
