men: this is the part where you LISTEN.
it’s cool that you’re “horrified” and “my god!” and “disgusted,” but let us take the lead here.
i don’t care about your take. i don’t care about your feelings on schneiderman’s statement. LISTEN to WOMEN. ignoring us for literally ever is what got countless serial abusers into office.
i would like you all to shut the fuck up for like, an hour, and think about what it’s like to be a woman right now. to know that a man who cut off a woman’s “ability to breathe,” and “could rarely have sex without him beating” her is a state’s highest law enforcer.
AMPLIFY women’s thoughts/feelings. i know that might be foreign for some of you, but give it a try. don’t immediately jump to the election implications. just try for just a second to absorb what this is like for schneiderman’s victims and women who believed in him.
i know you might be a “political professional” or something related, but i promise that whatever kernel of wisdom you think you’re imparting right now is simultaneously being said by a woman, who has far more skin in the game than you ever will.
