I saw patients in the office this week, wearing an #N95 and Goggles. One patient remarked that such precaution was “just overblown, because #COVID is so mild”.
“What?” I said. “People are indeed sick and dying, including a recent patient on our service.”
Pt: “But it’s mild.”
Our hospital and hospital system, one of the largest in the nation, has almost 25-30% of all admitted patients with #COVID19. Deaths continue. Elective inpatient surgeries are being cancelled.
Profound disruption of our ability to care for the population.

I have seen many physicians on #MedTwitter and #OrthoTwitter dispute this author’s allegation that physicians are “keeping prices high” in #Healthcare. This is patently false, at least with regard to procedural reimbursement.
Our research groups at @UnivOrtho and @OrthoAtYale retrospectively studied @CMSGov#CMS#Medicare reimbursements for Orthopaedic procedures across specialties over a period of 16 years.
