Fact: Clear air turbulence - the most violent - is increasing as we heat the planet and will get 300% worse in some areas over the next 30 yrs. This video is so frightening. Could it be the penny drop moment for some people to understand life on earth is never going to be the same. What is happening to šŸŒis beyond full comprehension. And govts intend for it to get worse. Thereā€™s something thing about this video that makes me feel nauseous. I think even for someone like me that thinks about this all the time, it shows a reality that we havenā€™t really faced before. For 50 years weā€™ve taken it for granted that itā€™s our right to soar through the atmosphere in a metal tube - itā€™s meant to be fun. Itā€™s a lynch pin of our consumerist lives. But this is a man reflecting on carnage. A growing gamble that you might be terribly injured from doing something weā€™re told is a lifestyle right. I canā€™t think of many more terrifying things to go through. Even now much of the media is ignoring the facts thatā€™s turbulence is increasing.
We didnā€™t listen and now the earth is taking the choices we refused to make out of our hands. Itā€™s beyond the worst Greek tragedy.

Climate change ā€˜should be the biggest issue of the dayā€™. @GaryLineker is right - and if you donā€™t understand why, thereā€™s a thread below šŸ‘‡ Scientists have known for decades that burning oil, coal and gas, releases carbon dioxide (CO2) which is a greenhouse gas - meaning it traps heat. The more CO2 there is, the hotter the planet gets:

šŸšØUnderstand why people are disrupting Shellā€™s AGM. Short thread. Oil companies knew for sure by the 70s that their product would dangerously heat the world. They spend $1Billion a year trying to confuse and lie to the public about climate change science: Oil companies pretend they want to lead the transition to renewable green energy but in reality they only care about their profits. They spend millions every year lobbying against green energy #Shell #ShellAGM #JustStopOil #ExtinctionRebellion forbes.com/sites/niallmccā€¦

Can you imagine the difference it would make if climate scientists like NASAā€™s Peter Kalmus @ClimateHuman were given the coverage that Paris Hilton has had in the British media this week. While all this focus is on @GaryLineker, he gets criticised a lot for tweeting about this because he understands that most people donā€™t understand the magnitude of what we are facing in our kids lifetimes and maybe our own. So far have found it too painful to watch HeartStopper all the way through. Reminded of when I saw Beautiful Thing in 1996 and sitting behind these two guys, one of whom was deeply sobbing when Jamie comes out to his mum. I guess I feel angry we all go through that pain Actually maybe thatā€™s a bit melodramatic. Maybe painful is not quite the right word, maybe ā€˜intenseā€™ is better. What feels like a simple story is quite a conflicting intense experience when youā€™re in your forties

What is coming is beyond most peoples comprehension, including journalists Scientists say we can still stave off the worst if we act - which is why everyone needs to become an activist, educate their friends and family, and get on the streets to demand change. If we carry on leaving it to other people we have no chance.
