Inspired by @1goodtern's digging, I've been checking Canadian data. @CIHI_ICIS - what's publicly available is useless. @StatCan_eng, better, but only goes to 2023, because we suck at data in 🇨🇦. Nonetheless 👀

Did something hit in 2020 that affected our hearts?! Bar chart from statistics canada data https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1310014701 of deaths by diseases of the circulatory system. 2019 - 72,516. 2020 - 74,245. 2021 - 75,068. 2022 - 79,134. 2023 - 77,385 2/ Deaths in Canada by diseases of the liver, 2019 to 2023.
