The #Taliban will be looking for assurances of a combined effort to uproot #ISIS (#ISKP, #ISHP & #ISPP) from the region. They will also look to dismantle the #NDS supported camps for insurgents & militants against #Pakistan.
Troop Withdrawal:
This has been a condition since the first round of talks sponsored by #Pakistan. The draw down of troops is a better option than withdrawal.
We would want to avoid a repeat of the civil war post-Soviet withdrawal.
Intra-#Afghan Negotiations:
The only path to peace is monitored and mediated negotiations between the ethnic groups of #Afghanistan for a power sharing model that works for all.
Expect a Truth & Justice Commission to be formed.
Comprehensive Ceasefire:
Without a ceasefire, engaging in any measurable #CT operations will be impossible.
A joint force of #US & #Taliban fighting #terrorism in #Afghanistan.
Giving them the Afghan National Army would be an excellent first step.
