Without a vaccine it would involve sacrificing the vulnerable in vast numbers
This “strategy” would also clearly damage the economy

4/. I’ve been trying to make sense of this since 8/3/20 when I dug up the PM’s #TakeItOnTheChin interview
A month later, me & @peterjukes broke the #GreenwichSpeech story which strongly suggests that a #HerdImmunity ‘strategy’ was the govts’ plan as far back as 3 February 2020!
5/. Ironically, the 5/3/20 - the day that @BorisJohnson told the nation that “one of the theories is that we could take it on the chin” - was the same day that the first Briton died of #COVID19
So #CovidMemorialDay & #TakeItOnTheChin are on the same day.
6/. Once it’s understood that #Herdimmunity was a deliberate “strategy”, then seemingly incomprehensible decisions - such as the govt INSTRUCTiNG hospitals to send people “who may have #COVID19” to care homes WITHOUT TESTING (guidance issued 2/4/20) - start to make horrific sense
7/. The govt’s claim to have put “a protective ring” around care homes is a lie
They knew about asymptomatic spread, yet hospitals were instructed to transfer patients to care homes without testing
Which minister signed this directive
Why have journalists failed to ask govt?
8/. The failure to put basic questions to Ministers (e.g. who signed this 2/4/20 directive & why”) have been a feature of COVID
One senior journalist told me last year: “I’ll guess we’ll find out one day, hopefully”

We’ll find out when journalists start asking the questions
9/. The main question which I started asking in early March 2020 was WHY the govt followed a strategy that they knew was unscientific, would kill many people & wouldn’t protect the economy?
It’s the question journalists should have been asking & leads to some disturbing answers
