1. NEVER WRITE YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT WITHOUT A PLAN_____
Having a good plan allows you to structure your letter and pick out the points that are applied to your application such as background, achievements, academic background, motivation, etc

2. AVOID BLAND / UNRELATED COMPOSITION___
International admissions are very competitive. They are looking for the best students. So, the PS Tests your academic competency and comprehension. This is a chance to convince the academic board that you are the right fit. Make sure
to use engaging words that shows your enthusiasm for the course.
3. Your PS is not AUTOBIOGRAPHY!
It is not a chance to share the stories of your life. Avoid telling family stories or unrelated childhood stories, rather use this chance to showcase your skillsets, academic experience, work experience, and how they match the course.

5.. AVOID USING LONG SENTENCES
Long sentences are difficult to read and track. Use short sentences to convey your message. Limit them to 23-32 words per sentence.
Do not make your essays less than 250 words or more than 500 words unless specified by the school.

6. DO NOT BOAST.
Use the persuasive sentence structure and where you make claims, support them with evidence.
Remember, you are the applicants and you need to convince and give them compelling reasons to pick you amongst the crowd.

7. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE/ DO NOT REVIEW IT ONCE
Take the PERSONAL in PS literally. Make it your own. It's okay to get inspiration from other people's work but do not plagiarize. There's software that can check for plagiarism these days.
Also, get a second eye to review UR PS.
