1. One of the stories I find most fascinating in the scriptures is that of the rich man and Lazarus (the poor man) in Luke 16:19. They both died however their lives continued afterwards. #ExploringEternity
2. They ended up in different places. The rich man had serious regrets. They retained their memories after death. Their view of their lives on earth changed. #ExploringEternity
3. From the story they still recognised each other, the rich man realised that his life on earth was in preparation for his life after death & that he had made the wrong choices. He also knew that his brothers’ decisions would qualify them for the same outcome. #ExploringEternity
4. Dr. Edward Banfield and others decided after decades of research at Harvard, that the greatest determinant of success is your attitude towards time. #ExploringEternity
5. They realised that people with long-term perspective succeed better than those that engage in short-term thinking. They found that long-term thinking improves short-term decision making. #ExploringEternity
6. Hence, the law of time perspective. The longer the time you take into consideration, the more accurate your decisions are and the more successful you are. #ExploringEternity
7. The scriptures in Ecclesiastics 3:11, shows that God has given us capacity to think beyond time. That’s why we don’t like death. Why do we feel sad when we contemplate the issue of death? It’s because, we are designed to live for ever. #ExploringEternity
8. We are created in God’s image. God is eternal & there’s a dimension to us that is eternal. God has set eternity in the human heart; the spirit of man came from the dimension of timelessness. Even though the physical body expires, the spirit continues to live #ExploringEternity
9. You will make the most of your time here if you factor eternity into your decision making. Thinking in light of eternity will shape your values significantly. Some things that seemed important before will now become not so significant. #ExploringEternity
10. A Christian has a phenomenal opportunity here because we see beyond the point of death. Paul says this in 1 Cor 15:19 (NIV) There’s a whole lot more that we get out of Christ. Christ affects us not only in this life but for eternity. #ExploringEternity
11. There is no way you will bear eternity in mind that it will not significantly alter the way you live your life now especially because most people don’t get to choose the day they die. #ExploringEternity
12. Jesus is saying that when you realise that you will spend a far longer time in eternity than you spend here, you will invest more in the life that you will live in eternity. #ExploringEternity
13. This is because your time on earth is temporary and insignificant compared to your time in eternity. (Matt. 6:19-21). #ExploringEternity
14. Our decisions here on earth have eternal consequences. We will enjoy the consequences of our decision for millions of years to come. #ExploringEternity
15. Those that think death is final, find freedom to live their lives anyhow they like. I think it will be better to assume that there’s life after death and find out that there is none instead of the other way around. #ExploringEternity
16. When you recognise the reality of eternity, then you lose your fear of death because death takes on a different meaning. For the person that does not think of eternity, death is a terminal point. #ExploringEternity
17. For other people it’s terminal, you never see the person again but for us death is not terminal for the Christian because we will meet again. For the Christian, the reality is that the death date in the physical world is the birth day into eternity. #ExploringEternity
18. Are you leveraging your limited time here, to prepare for a great life in eternity?” Now that you know that your life is going to continue because you are designed for eternity, what are you going to stop doing now ? #ExploringEternity
19. Knowing that someday when you leave this world and since you have no control over when that will be, what are you going to start to doing now? #ExploringEternity
20. These are very important questions that we should keep in our hearts and we should pray about. I pray that your time here will not be a waste, I prophesy new visions, new dreams, I pray for sensitivity to what the Holy Spirit wants you to do. #ExploringEternity
21. I pray you will be in perfect alignment with your divine destiny in Jesus name. Today marks the end of distractions from the things that really matter in this life. #ExploringEternity
