The interesting part, for me...is not Jordan. I understand that is how politics works, but as a resident here, lot of bigger questions.

But how does @OhioState respond? Jordan wasn't in charge. If others argue this...OSU will have to admit to systemic failures, ala Penn State.
Lets note that this investigation has been going on for a LONG time. I am surprised it didn't go national before; even more surprised that it was the political angle, and not the ABUSE angle, that got national attention.

I guess that is just what our national media prioritizes.
Note, even now...the media isn't focused on the abuser, or the abuse.

They are focused on the reporting. Which is important, to be sure...but the abuse should be the bigger story. Its not.
Any way, I think OSU failed, I think the head coach failed, and I think assistants like Jordan failed.

Not sure how you allocate blame, but I got to believe the biggest blame falls on the top.
One last side point:

On campus? This issue...is almost nowhere to be found.

Here is a reality:

If Buckeye fans don't care about this issue...Jordan is going to survive this. Because...this is Buckeye land.

And right now...Buckeyes don't even have this issue on their radar.

This is a good lesson for Republicans, but they never learn it.

In 2009-2010, when many of us conservative health wonks (especially people like @Avik ) tried to get GOP to coalesce around a plan to pass in the future...they basically took a pass.

That is one reason GOP failed.
The GOP remains completely incompetent and inept when it comes to long term policy strategies, and health care is the prime example.

If you want to know why they failed on repealing Obamacare, start with their actions in 2010.
Sound govt policy (conservative, liberal, or otherwise) takes time to grow and evolve. The GOP never bothered to really have a debate on what 'conservative health care' looked like.

So when Trump came along, the GOP was caught flat footed. And thus, were bound to fail.

On this #VeteransDay2018 ...short rant on the Veterans Administration...and its continued failures to our military veterans.
In August 2014, with much press celebration, Obama signed a bill (with the support of John McCain) that purported to fix the major deficiencies within the VA.

I was highly critical of the bill at the time, and I think history has proven I was right.

The bill increased funding for the VA, was supposed to enforced timely care for Vets, and increased funding for mental health and sexual abuse.

Here are a few things to keep in mind. Much of what the Senate does is by unanimous consent; a whole lot of it is done without a quorum present. Any senator at anytime can note the absence of a quorum and a vote ensues.If Democrats absent themselves,No one will note the absence
If no Dem is there, a. whole lot of bad things can be passed by unanimous consent.If a Dem is there, notes the absence of a quorum & tries to leave, the sergeant at arms can compel the senator to stay. And the Sergeant at arms can be required to try to round up absentees
Here is the bigger dilemma. How do you contest actions taken by the Senate when there was no constitutional quorum present? In the courts. Does anybody think the Roberts court would overturn them? @rickhasen weigh in on this one!

First, what is by now a chestnut "deep learning is great engineering but no science." This is (a) wrong, and (b) contains a fundamental misunderstanding, common in computer science, about what engineering is.
(a) Sure, no theoretical consensus on why deep learning methods work. But the important part was: Before they started working, it seemed clear that they shouldn't. Far too many parameters, not enough control of overfitting. Poor Mr L2 regularization can do only so much.

LINT (short thread). The most interesting part of this piece is the revelation that Mueller wants to write a report on this, "to answer the public's questions." Remember that under the Special Counsel regulations, Mueller doesn't have the authority to produce a public report.
2. Rather, a report -- one that centers on obstruction charges against the President -- would, I suspect (as required by the regs), would include recommendations of charges that Mueller wants to pursue, and/or charges he declines to pursue, which would be submitted to Rosenstein.
3. Let's say that his obstruction report details evidence he has gathered and he recommends that charges SHOULD be filed against the President. At that point, Rosenstein can either approve that request/recommendation, or decline it.
