@matthewjdowd 2/ zero sum it all made sense. If someone else gains or wins then they believe they lose. Since I see the world as more of a collaboration I didn’t recognize this at first. My view is if we lift one another up then we rise further together.
@matthewjdowd 3/ If we crush one another in selfish pursuits then we stunt our development as a whole. But since they see it as they win/we lose vs. they lose/we win it shifts their perspective of everything.
@matthewjdowd 4/ If you are explicitly for one group then you MUST be against an opposing group. Take how they define feminism. They claim again & again that feminists hate men & want power over men.
@matthewjdowd 5/In reality feminism is simply about equal rights. I am a feminist. I am the mother of 4 sons. I have been with my husband for over 20 yrs & adore him. I have enjoyed many close friendships with men spanning decades. I cherish these men in my life & don’t think negatively of men
@matthewjdowd 6/However under the lens of zero sum there is no equal. It’s win or lose. Either men win or women win. Therefore they truly believe feminist women are trying to win or dominate men and must hate men.
@matthewjdowd 7/White Christian males are either the dominating force or they are losing. Every slip of power is a loss for them. They are incapable of seeing that we can work together & lift one another up.
@matthewjdowd 8/So much in life can be shared & lead to a better outcome for all. They are terrified of losing their foothold. Terrified of being treated as they have treated others once they don’t have complete dominance.
@matthewjdowd 9) I wish they could learn to recognize that you can be for holding corrupt police officers accountable for their actions & recognizing that young back men and children are killed at alarming rates compared to white men and children.
@matthewjdowd 10) You can want to improve the way we train cops and work to weed out corruption while supporting offers and law enforcement as a whole.
@matthewjdowd 11/ When someone takes a knee or marches in the streets they are not working to devalue another group. They are working towards raising an oppressed group up to an EQUAL platform.
@matthewjdowd 12/We can all win or we can serve the 1% as the remaining 99% of us fight among ourselves for the scraps.
