I am going to make the most excellent cream of pheasant soup with brandy/chestnuts/tarragon and pheasant bacon bits and pheasant skin cracklings on top for garnish. I just thought everyone should know that this is what @Archaeotagh and @littlediegitoV and I do on Sun nights.
While watching Deep Space Nine.
Last night was prepping the cured pheasant, quail, duck, and beef.

Side note: juniper berries have a higher than expected moisture content that makes them difficult to smash, and smashing the spices is half the fun here so I was a bit disappointed in that part.

Okay, here's my quasi-annual list of Christmas music you could be listening to instead of the 18th cover of that terrible "Last Christmas" song, or the time Paul McCartney forgot he was a Beatle and should have some dignity and phoned in "simply having a wonderful xmas time."
Side note: hey, coffee shops and retail stores of America, look, I understand that the reason you are playing all this crap Christmas music when there's like 400 years of gorgeous carols is bc you don't want to play overtly religious music in your establishment.
But for the love of sweet baby Jesus, please, as someone who is very much Not Christian, I'm telling you, I would rather hear a nice version of Adeste Fidelis any day than fucking "Last Christmas." Plus, instrumental versions of carols with super-religious lyrics exist.

Man, I was enjoying my December away from Twitter, but I have some thoughts on this.
This is example #196134135761 of how most people in positions of authority in games absolutely *will not* do the right thing unless public backlash forces them to.
Think about that next time you're wondering why some woman had to make a giant public stink about things rather than handling things in a genteel, demure, behind-the-scenes manner.

There are people I (used to as of today) follow who are in the comments saying,

"I work at a bookshop/books aren't necessary," - not everyone has internet access actually and you need an address to get a library card!
"Makeup isn't necessary/clothes aren't necessary/etc"

Makeup is pushed on women (especially trans women) in order to get access to jobs and other necessities. They are seen as less respectable, less *women* if they don't wear it.

Another dude who felt entitled to a girl’s attention killed her and nine others and men are still sitting around telling us about their oppression because girls and women say no and don’t want them.
Do y’all know how hard it is for women to say “no” to men? Do you know all the things that go through our heads when we think about how we react to men who feel entitled to our attention, time, or even just a response to them?
We put up with more than you can ever imagine out of fear or even just for “ease” because we just don’t want to make a scene or impact our jobs or get hurt or DIE.

1. What the europhiles don't understand is that we don't want splurges of EU cash for crappy civic statues and contemporary arts centres. They may be occasionally adequate additions to a civic space but they are not in themselves regenerative.
2. A jamboree like City of Culture might add a few million to the coffers, and I emphasise might - but this is not genuine sustainable regeneration. It's propaganda and PR.
3. And no, sticking an ERDF blue flag plaque on it is not going to make us grateful to the EU. It might work on the council CEOs and the other dullards whose grossly inflated salaries depend on such venture, but for everyone else it's a slap in the face.
