So the media is at last starting to work out quite how important the Article 50 case is. Yesterday @BBCr4today acknowledged: "We may look back in a couple of years and say 'that case was a key moment'" (bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0… at 2.48.20).

There's a perfectly sensible case for a Party leader making policy from on high. But it's pretty grim watching smart folk on the Left demean themselves trying to pretend that's not what Corbyn is doing.
Question for all those folks insisting member-led democracy was served because delegates got to vote on a motion: why didn't they get to vote on whether Labour should commit to a referendum given how over 100 constituencies and at least three quarters of members wanted one?
It's a free country. Subscribe to whatever delusion makes you happy. Just don't expect anyone whose head is screwed on such that their nose and toes point in the same direction to join you in it.

Only 29% of judges in England and Wales are women. Fewer than 1% are "black or black British".

Of the 1,360 odd *salaried* (ie full-time, permanent) judges in England and Wales the number who are "black or black British" is 7. That's right, about half of one percent.

To say Guy N Smith is prolific is an understatement: he has had over a thousand short stories and magazine articles published, as well as writing for countryside magazines and promoting pipe smoking. Quite a busy Guy.
Guy N Smith's mother was historical novelist E.M. Weale. He published his first story aged 12 and wrote 55 more before he turned 17. At his father's insistence he went into banking as a career, before moving into the shotgun trade.

Today in pulp I look back at one of the most influential and outrageous illustrators of the 1970s, whose work defined the Italian fumetti horror scene: Emanuele Taglietti!
Emanuele Taglietti was born in Ferrara in 1943. His father worked as a set designer for director Michaelangelo Antonioni, often taking Emanuele with him on set.
In the 1960s Taglietti moved to Rome, where he studied stage design. He began a successful career as an assistant art director, working for Federico Fellini and Marco Ferreri.

Out Of The Unknown was BBC2's science fiction anthology series: a set of stand alone teleplays mostly based on short stories by famous SF writers. It ran from 1965 to 1971, but almost half the episodes have been lost.

Sydney Newman is a legendary figure in British TV drama. He began his career in Canada before moving to the UK in the 1950s to work on ATV’s Armchair Theatre. He was the driving force behind The Avengers, before moving to the BBC in 1962 and launching Doctor Who.
In 1961 Irene Shubik was working with Newman on Armchair Theatre when she pitched him the idea of a spin-off series focussing on science fiction stories. Newman liked it, and Shubik was paired with Avengers director Leonard White to work up the series.
