“Sidney” kept calling for “Donna” and I kept trying to explain to “Sidney” that this number didn’t belong to “Donna” at which point “Sidney” would abruptly hang up on me. Finally called back pretending to be “Donna”, went along with the questions “Yes I Do have excellent credit!”
And eventually said “can I please update my contact info to 669... (yes I do have 669 google voice number for realz)” and “Sidney” was glad to oblige. “Sidney” then went on to ask “What type of car do you own?” ‘Well Sidney, I actually don’t own a car currently!’
“Sidney” then told me she couldn’t help me anymore.

I’ve been selling for over 10 years now and I still see people severely misunderstand a customers requirement. I always would love to be a fly on the wall but my usual guess is that word matching comes in, customer says stuff. Key word mentioned, person focuses on keyword
Which to be fair isn’t hard to do given the massive breadth and depth of the technology and security domains. But honestly you need to capture requirements well or get a meeting booked coz proposing from mis undertsood requirements is a waste of time.

State of #unemployment & #underemployment in India is pathetic. But comparing that to the SSR case is worse. If rallying behind a cause is what it takes to shake an age old toxic tree, then why aren’t the ones who care about unemployment doing it? I care about both but saying one
is more important than the other is simply foolish. One case is about our economy and other is about drugs and sex trafficking. Not just murder. Both are fcuking up our youth.
Our #education system is a massive loophole. The govt talks about #DigitalIndia but cannot make a digital platform for education during the lockdown? How are universities around the world conducting exams? Why can't we build something when we have the ability?

I was once consulting a Leadership Team. I was giving a presentation on Clusters and Market segments. After the presentation, I met the CTO over a cup of coffee. We were talking about the presentation & the many times I'd say cluster is the many times CTO will say Modular
during our conversation. I didn't correct him because the dictionary synonym for cluster is modular. Although cluster marketing strategy is very different from technical architecture modular strategies. On my way back home, the sales linguistics cracked me up! 😂
This was a lesson for me to find out the history and background of a person before consulting them. Sales gets easy when we speak client's linguistic.
