When I delivered my son, I did not know he had Down syndrome. My husband and kids already left the hospital. I was told alone, in the dark after a 14 hr labor. I was terrified. I can't imagine being given the choice to resuscitate him if I chose to end his life. He is Perfect!
Fear and exhaustion can make the strongest women make poor choices. I'm blessed I had a support group around me, can you imagine young unwed mothers who are faced with this scenario? This bill is pure evil. Preying on the fear of new mothers.
I've been literally sick to my stomach over what is going on. Falling off the cliff is where we are. Calling my son an 'abnormality' by people who know nothing about him, need to just shut it.
He is my heart and my soul. I will fight for him, forever.
