What's really interesting is the Left thinks people are stupid enough to fall for this and ... they may be right.

One of the vulnerabilities cited by the BBC study on civilizational collapse is belonging to a "tightly coupled globalized system". Part of the intuition for renewed system borders is the instinctive awareness of that danger.
Anomalies, like the mutations that cause cancer, are an inevitable part of complexity. Part of the price we pay for complexity is surprise.

D&D feels like a HUGE cheat, since that, for me, covers B/X, BECMI, AD&D 1st and 2nd Edition, 3rd, 4th, and 5th edition.

I also don't lump Pathfinder in there because despite being a similar rules base, I learned completely different things from how the game was supported.
Standard disclaimer--I tried to pick the top ten, but I've definitely been influenced by more games than this. Sometimes, in retrospect, but there have definitely been more than these 10 that had an impact.

Utterly central to the British Union of Fascists was Oswald Mosley - born in 1896, in London, son of a baronet, from ‘good country stock’. During World War One, he served as a soldier and a member of the Royal Flying Corps. On paper, he was the picture of aspiration & success. /2
Despite the fact that fascists often promote themselves as revolutionaries, a large proportion of those directing movements represent partly a picture of conventional success within the system - the war hero for example, the noble heir or even better, a ‘self-made man’. /3

THREAD showing evidence I've come across that suggests the recent murder of a young Jewish man in California was committed by a neo-Nazi, possibly as a politically motivated killing. (Sat on this for a week waiting on editors but now bits of the info are already out, so fuck it).
On January 2nd a 19-year-old Jewish man went missing in southern California. He turned up dead on Jan 9th, buried in a shallow grave in Borrego Park (wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=3…). A former class-mate was arrested on suspicion of the murder on Jan 12th.
The deceased is Blaze Bernstein and the suspected killer--now charged with the murder--is Sam Woodward, 20. (Referred to here on out as Blaze and Sam). See the next tweet for the LA Times story.

This is William Joyce. Anglo-Irish political activist and broadcaster. Born in America, grew up in Ireland during the War for Independence. Never killed anyone, nor actively organized genocide...
After graduating from university & a short dalliance in Conservative politics, he was drawn to Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists.

He did very well there as an organizer and speaker, and was known for wading into brawls against anti-fascists.
In 1939, with war looking and the British government seeking to detain those sympathetic to the Nazi state, Joyce and his wife fled for Germany.

After looking for a job, Joyce got an interview an audience with the Nazi state's radio service.

The closest analogy to today's antifa isn't Eastern European history, but British anti-fascist right before and after WWII.
Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists used public gatherings with police protection for rallies. They started by holding little debates.
British antifa wanted to attack fascists in 1934, but older Jews "loathed and detested" it, saying it would make them Just Like The Nazis.
