The line that DHS is taking children away from their parents to be drugged and diddled in jails without accountability and then losing thousansd of them pretty much negates their argument that it's being done out of compassion.

By the way, I can absolutely corroborate that this is happening to journalists at the border. It happened to me nearly every time I crossed in 2018 - I was searched and screamed at for asking what the fuck was going on.

I have SENTRI, so I'm pre-cleared.
Ya can't shut me up though @DHSgov so don't worry! I'll hold you publicly accountable for the rest of my life, and I plan to live a very, very long time.

Awesome! Mexico had a huge and thriving opera (and classical) scene in the 1800s and had world-class composers and musicians. Tijuana still does street opera events too.

Recognize this song? You probably will. It's by Juventino Rosas, who wasn't just Mexican (from Guanajuato) but also indigenous. He started as a street musician and died at only 26. Imagine what more great music he could have composed had he lived longer.

Naked cruelty, sheer stupidity and gross incompetence lead to the disgraceful mistreatment of these children. We treat our pets better than this. But that's no surprise: migrants and refugees have for so long been described as animals. The sin here is immense. 1/
Here we see the malign effects of such a grave grave sin. Motivated by selfishness (Go back where you came from!), magnified by cruelty (They got what's coming to them!), cloaked in lies (We didn't say that!), we see the results: physical suffering, misery, confusion, despair. 2/
And, finally, people refusing to take responsibility, denying complicity and passing on blame, completes the portrait of sin. But all involved in this--from the president to those who are taking children away from their parents--are cooperating in evil. 3/

3/ To get into the US, they could go to a port of entry (like a border checkpoint) and claim asylum, which is legal.

But those ports can’t process asylum seekers quickly and that border officials sometimes refuse them.

Apparently the Attorney General and the White House Press Secretary have cited the Bible in defense of a "Zero Tolerance" policy that separates immigrant children from their parents. Since teaching the Bible is what I do, I thought I'd weigh in. Here we go... 1/8
It's hard to come up with a justice related issue in the Bible that's more prevalent than the insistence from the Torah, the Prophets, Jesus, and the Apostles, that we must care for least among us; and significantly, special consideration is give to "the foreigner among you." 2/8
